i mean, i don't even think this is subjective at this point. First issue is that Provorov is awful. he's really bad. If you look at the bruins back end, obviously Lindholm and Lohrei are ahead of him on the left side. They're not picking up his contract to play him on the third pair.....
then factor in again that he's REALLY bad.
Now let's start to consider his bigotry. Not sure if you've ever been to massachusetts, but the intolerance around sexual orientation isn't tolerated. It would be a brutal PR move to pick him up, which I think the bruins would absolutely do (they have in the past), if he was good, and didn't have a horrible contract. but he's not, and he does. No shot the bruins would ever even take the call about acquiring him.

Not saying the offer isn't fair, but the Devils doubling down on offense probably isn't the best use for our assets and cap room

Lol he’s not bad. He would be a great 3rd pair defenseman. At 4 million he’s on a pretty good contract and can be half retained. As long as he has a decent defensive partner he can be really good. His main problem with the jackets has been he’s been forced to play in the o zone a ton and is slow getting back creating some breakaways. If he has a responsible partner that issue is negated.

Really…?

Which is more bigoted?

The guy saying, “I respect everyone’s views. My choice is to stay true to my religion”

The group saying, “People like you not welcome here”

So in one sentence you're criticizing rushing the kids and then making a lineup of nothing but?

With that contract and his piss-poor play I think Gaudreau + 3 1sts in return for Future Considerations is more likely. In what world are you getting assets back for that guy.

off ice issues aside, i think i'd be a buyer if he's under $2M. but the off ice issues are there. I think Parker Wotherspoon is just as good and he's $800K

Boqvist is an interesting option for NSH— I think he could do to in Brunette’s system.

Flyers obviously decline. Fletcher tried to sign him yes, but it's already in the past.

My bad. I forgot Boston is only bigoted against other races, not sexual preferences.

And aside from that, he's still a decent player, not great, but quite reliable and been stuck on terrible teams the past few years.

Not sure how you're getting that. I'm saying in a true rebuild, the kids would be playing and Jarmo would not have acquired a bunch of mediocre veterans in an attempt to find success before the youth had developed. This exercise was to undo those mistakes and show the lineup if the prospects were all playing more minutes like they should be.

that is all very blown. a very well deserved reputation based on a history of systemic racism, starting with, "irish need not apply," but these days it isn't what the reputation would indicate. but ya, first country in the national to legalize gay marriage, provorov wouldn't fly.

He's also not good enough to be in the bruins lineup, and expensive....sooooo it's a pass.
