Why would we trade a reliable top 6 winger, who has shown that he can work with our big guys, for a top 4 LHD? We don't need a LHD, we need RHD, and defiantly not a Morgan Reilly type guy.. This seems like we are opening a spot, to fill nothing, and instead take on a 7.5M contract.

How ironic would it be if the other Tkachuk got traded for a UFA-winger-to-be and a RD? That might be enough for Tkachuk alone, but it really doesn't help Ottawa enough for them to actually agree.

The St. Louis trade is brutally far off, and the others are all declined by non-Toronto teams.
