The thing that makes this rumor absolute nonsense is that to the Leafs, Foligno is a cap dump. A bad contract. But the Hawks have no reason to dump his contract because we dont need cap space. So why would we pay to dump him? It just doesnt make any sense for either team

So Leafs fans go on and on about how Marner is garbage, soft and overpaid but they someone find a way to demand the moon and stars for him in trades… 🙄

Hawks easily decline, they wouldn’t trade Foligno for Kampf straight up, nevermind retaining on Foligno. Also, no chance they give up six years of a solid RHD as well as 1st and 2nd round picks for a guy they could potentially get as an FA after this coming season.
