would you mind making a fake account? It's just for communications purposes as all the other GM's use it. If you do, you can follow me at @Daryl_67 and we'll get in touch.
Basically a simulation in which we all run an NHL team and trade, sign, draft, etc with one another. A Stanley Cup winner is chosen at the end of every year through the use of stats and metrics. You have to join as an assistant to start but in time there will be openings for GMś.
It's not a necessity, but it is highly recommended. There are a few GMs in game that only use the CF forums to post content and offers, but back and forth specifics can be worked out much faster with direct messages (DMs) on twitter.
Ok. Now im hoping i dont get in over my head.
I'm guessing we're not starting fresh with the real team roster the way they are .
The link to the GM Game is here: https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/gm-game-v4
Each team is run by a person who has editting rights to their team page. Each team may have an Assistant GM (AGM) to help with anything like trade offers, reviews, player research, etc...
Teams negotiate with one another and agree to terms of their deals. Official trades are posted in a separate trades thread dedicated to the game. GMs then modify their teams from those official trades agreed upon by all parties involved, and we keep track of live regular season stats of those players to determine overall value and rank. Top 8 teams in the East and West get to advance to playoffs, and team composition, ranked forwards, defense, and goalies get voted on by remaining GMs with random stats and minor bonuses included as factors to simulate who advances each round, until a champion wins the cup.
feel free to ask around on any of the team pages. Once hired, the GM will give you an intro on how everything works.
edit: just a quick summary of the game:
The way this game operates is having 31 people like you and me, pretending to be fake GMs of each franchise. You'd get to act as if you were in charge of a team. You would negotiate deals with our GMs, make trades, and everything else that happens in real life, that an actual GM would do. There would also be free agency, the draft, expansion, and more during the offseason; in additions to the power rankings released every month.
Looking to get into the GM game, how would i do that exactly?
Get in touch with some GMs on their pages and someone I'm sure will take you on as an assistant GM. This will open up the possibility that you get promoted later on when there's a vacancy
