Vegas got rid of him due to cap situation. He alone eliminated us from the last playoffs. As for Giroux, the one who does not risk, never drinks Champaign.

Fleury might very well fetch a first just for his name alone. I would offer second for his performance this season though. Plus Cam Talbot who is not a cap dump but rather a tradeable asset for the next tdl. I understand however that Fleury might go into a beast mode in playoffs and is definitely worth a risk.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RazWild</b></div><div>There wouldn't be much of a difference in prices, no matter where he'd sign or play. No matter where he signs it'll be as a ELC. That's not going to jump up what he's going to be paid by much if at all.
The only difference is going wherever he thinks he has the best chance to play. Depending on how he looks at the Olympics, will most likely determine that.</div></div>
We ll see. I heard that he is not dressed for todays game. Maybe he gets a chance if Canada is already in by the last game of group stage.

If it looks like they are not signing whats the asking price
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RazWild</b></div><div>But by all accounts it sounds as if he'll sign.
Per Pronman;
"Jack McBain, C, Canada (Minnesota): McBain is a big forward with some skill who is highly competitive and great around the net, but his skating has never been his strong point. McBain is a senior at Boston College, where he’s having an excellent season. <strong>While sources I’ve talked to believe he will sign with Minnesota once this season is up</strong>, teams have been watching his situation closely this season to see if they have a chance of signing him as a free agent. A strong Olympics for McBain could stir his situation even more."</div></div>
I hope so. But folks are wondering about the price to get him. And my point is that he is either not going anywhere, or does not provide any return for us: all or nothing.

Yep, but who wanna risk taking a player who might not want to sign. I don’t see NJD doing it unless it is prearranged with McBain. Either way, I can’t see us getting more than a 5th.

Opinions
I would personally wait a year to see how CA’s defensive game evolves and what is the situation with Dumba’s contract. I don’t think we need to rush with this one, especially given the fact that Casey seems to be injured and would unlikely contribute to our playoff run this season.

If McBain does not sign, he walks as a FA. Thus, there is no price for him.

I know this is a post about video game, but I find it hilarious how folks around the capfriendly still think Zucc is not playing up to his contract and it was a bad signing. Just my take, not really related to the post trade.

An untouchable prospect who is not getting moved.
<a href="/users/drmantalban" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@drmantalban</a> we really need size. Our prospect pool, i d say, is relatively small and McBain stands out in a crowd. Also, he is one of the best NCAA centers and I would not be happy to lose such an asset at this point.
I would trade Khovanov instead. But I doubt Peg accepts, as well as I doubt whether we need Copp.

I would have taken Henrique, but he has a couple of more contract years that we cannot afford. We are looking for a 3C and a pure rental.

I think, at this point, we are more interested more in a 3C rental rather than a 1C rental. And preferably, with a good fo percentage to play alongside Fiala.

Nelson Trade with the next season plans
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MNBassman</b></div><div>There is plenty of room to resign Fiala if Guerin has the guts to do the right thing (trade Zucc).</div></div>
We have plenty of wingers though. As you can see, there is no Pitlick and Greenway on the roster. Fiala is going to be the third man with uncertain future. Nelson is consistent and is a center. He would do the job right while we are waiting Rossi to emerge as a top six center. Then, he will be moved to wing and become a Zucc replacement then. I can see a future in it. I do however understand that trading Fiala might not be a popular decision. But there is a common good in it: we need a top six center and Isles need the top six winger to play on the Barzal line.

Conditional picks are no longer allowed in regards to if a player resigns with a team anymore, as per the changes made to the CBA just before the play-in rounds two seasons ago.</div></div>
Just wondering, may I have a condition like “if Smith plays 1 game next season for the Wild” , which implies that he resigns?

Still. Calgary needs a 2C not less than Boston. The need in a winger is debatable though. But I get your point here. The price for Monahan is likely a second rounder plus a b prospect. How much DeBrusk costs is another story.
