PLD will never waive for Calgary, and they shouldn't want him. Having Huberdeau and Dubois would give Flames fans strokes

Either way, with both sent down or claimed… WPG has the cap space to trade for Lindholm, unretained, right now, instead of waiting for the TDL.</div></div>
Sign me up for Lindholm.
The question is does Calgary wait until the deadline, or do they consider themselves out of the playoff picture now, and send the UFA's out and set their sites on next season.

Jenner - What will it take
Pittsburgh doesn't have the picks, or prospects to overpay for Jenner, which is what they'd need to do to convince Columbus to trade him.
This is likely a retool situation similar to what Vancouver did last year, where they traded Horvat, made a coaching change, and kept guys like Miller, and are now one of the best team's in the league.

lol.
Cause he has worked out so well as a centre.
I have no idea why Vincent thought that would work.

The question is, who will be claimed.
They have cooled off a bit, but we could lose one, or both of AJF, and Toninato.

A PLD Experiment
PLD requested a trade out of two cities before he turned 25. Two coaches have now publicly criticized his effort.
Do I think he will get traded this year, or even next? No
If he were though, a bad contract or retention would be needed because his value is low. His reputation is so low, L.A wouldn't receive anywhere close to what they regrettably gave to Winnipeg.
Others on this message board have proposed PLD to Montreal trades, and I'm just joining in on the fun.

Would Lindholm re-sign. If that happens, it will make my following point moot.
A reunion with Patty would mean one of Perfetti or Vilardi will have to be the 2C. Which one will it be, and will that work?
And why did Patty leave? If Wheeler was the problem, then a reunion could work with retention.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>nativewulf</b></div><div>Entirely different situations. Sharks were rebuilding and Meier was getting traded no matter what. Trotz has no reason to move Saros this year, so he can put any absurd price he wants to see if someone is desperate enough</div></div>
And also Meier would only sign an extension with New Jersey. If he was open to signing extensions elsewhere, the return would have been better.
Saros will be traded when Nashville believes Askarov is ready to take the starting job.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>Fortunately for Winnipeg, Karlsson says no.
I really can't see Chevy messing with one of the best defenses in the league to add a defenseman that is bad at actually playing defense.</div></div>
Neal Pionk is no Rod Langway, and Bones made him better. Our powerplay is horrible, he'll be great in that regard, and Bones would simply coach Karlsson up and improve his defensive game.

If Dubas offers that deal to Winnipeg, I say Chevy accepts, but I doubt Pit would want to retain that much for that long.

Building A New Foundation By Trading JT And Marner
The only way the Jets trade McGroarty would be in a MacKinnon, Draisaitl, or McDavid type deal. Even with the Marner retention, and if he waives he wouldn't be in Winnipeg longer than 2 years, when McGroarty is in the league and progressing.

Jets need Lindholm
We'll see at the deadline if Lindholm a) doesn't sign in Calgary, and b) if the Jets need an injection in the lineup.
Calgary can get more than that for Lindholm.
I'm in the minority here it seems, but the Jets can absolutely go big on a rental.
Winnipeg has Lucius, McGroarty, Chibrikov, Salomonsson, Lambert, and Barlow coming up. The prospect pool is good, and deep enough to sacrifice one of those guys for a rental the caliber of Lindholm. His two way ability would be beloved by Bones.
Of those prospects, my choice to go is Lucius, but this is the time to go all in and make that sacrifice for the Cup.

No the Jets don't need him. The NMC is to protect him from getting traded far away from home. Everywhere he's been traded to has been relatively close to home

Hamonic is from a town 90 minutes from Winnipeg, and his request out of Long Island was because he wanted to be close to family. Unless you heard something I didn't, I'm pretty sure he'd want to play for the Jets.
