That rangers trade is heinous. I think the rangers still decline if you add the islanders 1st rd pick. According to you a mediocre 2nd line center is worth a 2nd line RW and a 1RD

Lafreniere et Wright
Youre close on the rangers trade. Just remove all the non-Lafreniere players, the 2nd rd pick, swap out Floridas 1st for Montreal's 2022 1st, and throw in a rangers prospect of 2 (Lundqvist+) and its a fair deal!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Stanley_Cup_To_Manhattan</b></div><div>Rangers aren't trading Lafreniere.</div></div>
As a Rangers fan, I can see the Rangers trading Lafreniere, but it'd only be for the 1st overall pick. They lack org depth at center, specifically defensive center, and are tight on cap space. You can add a prospect or 2 on the rangers side (like Lundkvist + Cuylle) to even it out, but Laf aint happening unless Wright is involved. I hope this trade happens in real life! A future star Québécois to leading Montreal would be really cool!
Fun fact: Laf scored 25 career 5v5 goals faster than Nate MacKinnon, Stamkos or Tavares scored 20 5v5 goals.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Poehling</b></div><div>But Lafreniere hasn’t been good

So IMO Wright > Lafreniere (especially that Wright is a center)</div></div>
Laf actually has been pretty good. His 5v5 scoring has been excellent. Hit hit 25 career 5v5 goals faster than Hall, Hughes, Kane, MacKinnon, NugentHopkins, Stamkos, or Tavares got to 20 5v5 goals. He gets zero PP1 time (avg 71 seconds per game) bc PP1 has Panarin and Kreider. Stick him on Montreal and that number would like be closer to 3 like you have with Zegras, Hughes, and Stuzle-- all of whom have almost 9+ times the PP points Laf had this year (2).
As for your trade, I actually think it could happen, I just think you need to swap Lundkvist for Schneider. Maybe add in another prospect like Cuylle to make up the difference. Rangers wouldn't move Schneider bc his play style works better considering their other RD (Lundkvist and Fox play the same game). Rangers are stacked at LW but lack organizational depth at center and dont have a lot of cap space to sign a 2c while Montreal does (like Copp or Strome)

assuming Motte is a depth 13th forward/7th dman. why is he worth a 2nd rd pick when you have 10 other teams that probably have the same player available for a 5th rd pick?

Canucks Deadline Without Trading Miller
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LetsGoPens69</b></div><div>Ya, rumors say they are getting offers for Boeser. I keep thinking from who??
I just saw NYR’s are around 6.5M under the cap right now, with not really anyone they have to resign that would get over what they are getting now. And have a bunch of young players on rookie deals.
I guess, it has to be rebuilding teams with cap space. I can’t see a contender giving up assets to acquire Boeser and not be able to fit him and his 7.5M QO under the cap next season.
Unless teams are sending back salary too. But GM JR is looking to shed cap; not take it on. I’m super interested in what teams have made offers.</div></div>
Rangers dont have a 2C under contract. So that 6.5 million is needed to sign a 2C, a backup goalie, Kakko, and Blais. With K'andre Miller, Lafreniere and a couple other players due new contracts the year after that. I cant see them using any of that 6.5 million to sign a top 6 winger when they already have Panarin, Kreider, Lafreniere, Kakko, and Chytil on their team on cheap deals.

The Reshape
So the rangers are trading Pavel Buchnevich, Braden Schneider, a 1st, and a 4th for JT Miller and a 2nd rd pick (STL)? Rangers front office has a hard on for Schneider (as does every NHL GM).

While not an insider, that guy above is right about Schneider. Rangers front office have a massive hard on for Schneider. So does every GM in the nhl. a big physical dman whose good in his own zone, can join rushes and hits hard. But thats why I cant see them trading him for a anything outside of a cost controlled 2C.

Sign retain trade Boeser
NHL GMs dont have the cajones or creativity to do a sign and trade. That being said, as long as Panarin, Kreider, Kakko and Lafreniere are on this team, I cant see them trying to acquire another top 6 winger, unless theyre an upgrade one of those 4 and on an affordable contract. And I think they get a 2c before another winger.

Not here to say that those Rangers prospects are somehow untouchable studs. Bc they aren't, Cuylle is the better of the 2 and hes most likely a feisty 3rd line winger. That being said, rangers dont need a 3rd line winger

I dont watch Canucks games, but 1) how great is he considering Vancouver is the by far the worst PK team in the league 2) if he is as great as you say he is, would he be a worthwhile addition to CAR who have the best PK in the league?
As for the trade with the rangers. The package is a little too rich for a pending FA the rangers most likely won't be able to pay (Fox is due a 9 million $ raise next year and they dont have a 2C signed yet). If they do get a RW2 instead of using kakko, they'd probably prefer garland (which that package is closer to reality for) bc of that feistiness that the Rangers GM loves.

Nah let Laf sink or swim in the top 6. Hes never gonna develop if hes stuck playing with Barclay Goodrow and Greg McKegg/Julian Gauthier on the 3rd line. Stick Kessel on there to create some offense. Kessel on the top line also means the other guys have to pick up the slack defensively since Kessel play defense.

Lehkonen trade aint bad. Rangers might need to swap Hughes for a better D prospect like Matthew Robertson or Hunter Skinner. But I cant see them trading a 1st (like most people have) for a guy like Lehkonen bc they need 5v5 scoring help.

Ranger fan here. Kravtsov trade is unfortunately pretty fair value, which is why I dont think they trade him just for futures. I think its more likely they try to trade him for a lesser version of Arthur Kaliyev than just picks. Kravtsov is good tho.

the rangers are gonna buy out Deangelo. The cap hit would be $883,000 for 2 seasons, that's an extra rookie deal basically. And he'd probably cost less to the Devils after a buyout.

The flames would have 5 years to find Wolf's replacement, or just bring in another free agent like they did with Markstrom. This is the equivalent to Edmonton worrying about a future replacement center for McDavid or draisaitl

The Rangers will just buy out Deangelo this off season, the cap hit would be $350k next year and $800K the following year. If the rangers were gonna trade kakko in a package, he'd already be on Buffalo and Eichel on the Rangers.
After the Rangers buy out Deangelo, Calgary should definitely take a look at him. I agree in your thinking that Lucic could keep him in check really well.

Future Mrs. Dr. Trouba isn't the problem with that trade, its the fact the Rangers would have no interest in Radulov bc of his position. They have 6 top 6 wingers on the team already (LW: Panarin, Lafreniere, Kreider RW: Buchnevich, Kakko, Kravtsov) so I don't see why they would want him. For a different package I can see him going to Dallas.
