10 goals, 22 pts in 37 games? Physical speedy 3rd liner is exactly what is needed. Or just use Brannstrom apparently. Specially after last game. LOL!

Coming to Washingtons rescue
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>brady_t12</b></div><div>In a vacuum the value is somewhat close but I think the caps would be foolish to move their first rounder right now. A 2025 second and 2024 mid-late pick for those two combined would be closer in value I think.
That being said, the caps have such an insane logjam on their roster that they need to move some bodies out before even considering bringing anyone in. They are in a weird position of having plenty of cap space and not even close to enough roster space, on top of the fact that they do need to add a legit top 6 scoring threat.</div></div>
I imagine a few roster players would need to be included in the deal to not only alleviate some cap space but alleviate some roster spots. Malestyn and/or Dowd come to mind.

Sens should be willing to move Chychrun or Tkachuk for the right haul
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>csick</b></div><div>I’ve come to the conclusion that to fix their flaws they have to move :
One of Tkachuk or Batherson (defence isn’t there)
One of Chabot or Chychrun (too many puck movers)
Brannstrom , Kubalik, Tarasenko (no future here)
The 2 I listed are the most likely to get us a huge haul to send us into a nice 2 year rebuild and have a prospect pool ready to come in hard in 2 years</div></div>
1. You can still teach these guys a system and D. You don't trade your best forwards for defence. Considering they still haven't gotten a proper coaching staff or system behind them. You also don't trade the guy who will go into battle and drag the crew with him or the guy with the best valued contract right now.
2. Chychrun and Chabot are fine when healthy. The best defence is to always have the puck and great first pass. These guys give you that. Stop attaching anchors to them in Hamonic/Zaitsev...
3. That's an obvious. These guys were never part of the solution long term. Trade them and recoup some assets to either restock the cupboards or acquire the right guys.
There are some issues with this team <strong>right now</strong>. But a knee jerk reaction in trading your most skilled guys is asinine when:
A) They haven't been coached properly in 6 years (goes for both forwards and defence).
B) They haven't played with proper partners in 6 years (defence).

Why? Seriously? Why? What is the rational behind moving these guys other than the team is losing?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>csick</b></div><div>The problem is that we have too many defensive deficient forwards. Cant play 2 of them together</div></div>
I'm still on the patience train. Give JM and Alfie some time on these guys. Bath is popping off. The last stink from the Melnyk era is washing off. I know 6 years is a long time to wait. But the pieces are there... get a new GM, trim the fat, get a stable coach, get Alfie to player development and JM back in the advisory role... I'm hopeful. But I understand the issue with waiting again.

In regards to the Chychrun trade: ARZ wasn't interested in taking back any salary in the deal. TOR didn't have the cap space for Chychrun at the time. ARZ wanted picks/prospects in the deal. Hence why Ottawa got the player over anyone else.

Can't retain on more than 3 contracts at one time. But the value is fine. Can't see too much complaint other than we could probably get more for a few of the players involved. Teams in question might see it otherwise considering that NJD doesn't have the need for Bran and offense is the further problem (if any) in VGK.

NGL, that's a pretty tough package to say no to. I'd retain 50% on VT and ask for a conditional 2nd that turns into a 1st based on team performance in the playoffs.

1) I'm a Sens fan... but that comment is hilarious because I remember over valuing our prospects too...
2) Let's take a step back here and calm ourselves. Be realistic here and think... Giroux is older and is not nearly worth the price of Jarvis ++ and you know it. Regardless of his importance to the franchise or not, if he wants out, no one will give anywhere near that much to acquire him.

Woah man, calm down. The guy asked hypothetically. I meant no offence by the comment, just given the reality of the situation, I doubt he waives for Carolina.
Best roster on paper...? Better than VGK? COL? NYR? BOS? LA? Let's slow the roll here.

Sens fans feedback
I echo all the Sens fans here: he's not going anywhere.
He's been the most consistent forward since coming here. I doubt he waives for anything other than a real shot at the Stanley Cup. For a guy in the later half of his 30's, he's not showing his age very much. Once the Sens get organized structurally, both on the ice and off, his role and play will only improve the situation. So unless everything falls apart this year and the next, he won't be moving.

Untouchable is an over-used word, but I do believe it is correctly used here. Kovalenko is a pipe dream until he shows up and I am not sure he will be happy with an LOC type role. I appreciate your posts and view, not trying to argue, just explaining myself.</div></div>
The modern day "Connor Brown" before his injury sounds like. And the Sens version of Mathieu Joseph (before he got hurt). Guys who don't feel out of place on any line.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Anus_McLeod</b></div><div>Colorado can't take on that kind of salary and really don't need Brannstrom.

Chicago might take Forsy, they're full up on LHD though... Maybe SJS.
