This high stick is causing quite the stir, and I'm curious what everyone on here thinks. There are a ton of people on Twitter saying that this is "poor for the NHL", but I disagree. How can you honestly expect the referees to see the puck slightly graze a players stick while it's at it's apex. Let's be real, the puck wasn't going higher than that. Had the puck not touched the stick at all, that play would have likely went on about the same.

That being said, I didn't see this live and all I am going off of is this short clip. I really hate that miniscule things like this can be so controversial. It's like when goals are called back because they were a hair offside. Did it really affect the play THAT much? Grasping at straws to try and justify a goal against ruins the fun of the game IMO. The NHL needs to severely work the rulebooks so stuff like this doesn't happen. More clarity is needed. Context matters so much</div></div>

I watched the Sharks literally throw the puck with their hands in the crease, in triple overtime, (Timo Meier to Karlsson) to win a playoff game.

This is a nothingburger to me, and im pulling for EDM.

Whether it tapped the stick or not, it did not change the play.

IF it hit the high stick, which is clearly debatable in itself, for me it would only irritate me if that happening changed the play, such as the above mentioned handpass.

An example of what irritates me, and I hate the Avs, but Landeskog being offside denying the goal 3 years ago did. That did not change the play at all. I wish it counted. Or the reviews where skates are hovering over the blue line irritate me. It even irritates me when it is in my teams favor.

I do not think hockey is better if we magnify every tiny detail, especially the ones that do not change the play whatsoever. This was a good goal.
