Leaning into using the cap space
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JackBurton</b></div><div>Gaudette I'm okay with, if he returns to better form pos-Covid, he's just the kind of bottom line guy we need. The rest is mind-bogglingly stupid, from disastrous asset management to cap ****ery.
Is Fleury retires, fair play, it all goes away. Or maybe he gets something out of trading him back to PIT. But how has he not realized that no one wants to come this organization anymore, without a massive overpayment? Not only that, he's taking a dump on that European pipeline he created himself, one of his only true feats to be accredited to him, with this Suter nonsense.
I would seriously like to strangle the man right now.</div></div>
I agree Stan I'd making odd moves, but if anything he's preserving the Euro pipeline vs ruining it. The Hawks could have qualified Suter, but Suter believes he's worth (rumored) $750 - $1M more per year than Stan did. Ok go get it, we COULD send you to arbitration, but we won't be an obstacle. We're still here if you find otherwise. That's what the Euro transfers want. Life altering contracts because the Swiss league isn't providing those contracts.

Leaning into using the cap space
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JackBurton</b></div><div>The Suter thing is still cranking me off today...
Grubauer is the only potential in that group you listed, Bishop has shown over time his body can't keep up. Holtby has fallen off a cliff. Stan either jumped on this decision like an ill-prepared fool and hoped for the best outcome, or he knows he;' gonna get canned and doesn't give a **** anymore. I've lost count of the messes he's accountable for right now...</div></div>
I think he knows in the back of his mind that there's a real possibility Fleury retires or requests a trade to Pittsburgh he can (and likely will at this point) facilitate. I don't understand why he's jumping through so many hoops for the moves he has/hasn't made. The huge overpay for Jones financially and asset-wise, potentially having to retain on Fleury to move him to Pittsburgh, not qualifying Suter, even though Suter is better than Strome, Gaudette, and Borgstrom. I don't understand how he can screw up with this much cap space. How did Gaudette end up getting a raise? He played 7 games... I just have no words.

Just thought they might need a goalie. Penguins or Oilers work too. Somebody will want a guy that won a cup 3 years ago and is only 31 and based on the Jones trade the Hawks seem to be a team that really value how good guys were 3 years ago lol

By looking at your last few posts, I think your concept of valuation is pretty far off from reality. Not meant as a dig at you, but the responses from your recent posts should tell you how far off you've been.</div></div>
People said that MikeyVC97 last week when he posted that Duncan Keith would be traded to Edmonton for Caleb Jones and a 3rd rounder and Chicago wouldn't retain any salary!!
Bwahahahahahahahaha!!! I'm kidding by the way....that was a shot at Jim Benning....Oops!! I meant Ken Holland....

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MikeyVC97</b></div><div>They have to pay Rathbone next year also. All this is assuming clearing around 7 mil of cap space will be enough to pay studs in VAN who are up for renewal this offseason.</div></div>
And they'll have Eriksson, Holtby, Virtanen, Roussell, Motte, Beagle all coming off which comes out to 15m if not more I believe. Plus Loungo recapture will be over for another few million. Plenty of money to re-sign their RFAs this year and next year. The original trade is awful and you can easily look all of this information up.

Next year Vancouver loses Eriksson's $6M, Beagle's $3M, Roussel's $3M, Luogo's $3M and Holtby's $4.3M. That's $19.3M....probably enough to sign Rathbone and a back up goalie.

is Tyson Jost that good?
his career high is 12 goals and 26 points in his first 4 seasons.
He seems more like a poor mans Dylan Strome not a step above Strome.

I hate Richie. I wish him much misery. He is such a negative asset in my book that it cocks up the whole trade. His being a complete ****house is literally what made it the worst, haha. (as in nothing personal, I was just making sure we all understood how much I hate Richie).</div></div>
I think I probably hate him more. Ritchie is the absolute worst. I would rather punt him into the sun than watch him play another game for the bruins. I watched that bum play for my team for two years, trust me, i know he’s the worst. But, he’s unsigned. Just don’t qualify the guy and it’s a 2nd for zadorov which i think is pretty fair.

I understand your point on the size of package you're looking to give up to CBJ, however I think that Columbus will want draft picks as part of a package that automatically improve if Jones re-signs with that club. Maybe Strome, Zadorov (who I like, but lots hate), and 2nd & 3rd in 2022, which turn into a 1st in 2023 and 2nd in 2022 if Jones re-signs.
