Hertl would definitely Center that line, Fantilli, Bedard, Carlsson, whatever center we end up getting, will likely start at wing and transition to center when Couture is gone.

Agree that Nylander's number is closer to what you're saying, but Timo is definitely most likely to extend with the Sharks. It would take a big trade to get rid of him. Saying he's 100% gone is flat out wrong. It's just because everyone on this site wants him that people think he's getting traded.

Stars win the Josh Anderson Derby
31 fanbases KNOW Josh Anderson is trash value
1 fanbase thinks he (and all their other bad value players) is golden.
And people wonder why I have no patience for habs fans
As for last year - EVERYONE knows certain habs players were grossly overpaid. Just because it happened once doesn't mean that that DEFINES the value for other crap.
Let's look at how those teams are faring now.
Florida got nowhere with Chiarot and lost a valuable asset with no gain. Detroit then signed him for too much and he has not been good.
Kulak has dropped off significantly and has been nothing more than a bottom pair D
Toffoli, while honestly he did go for the right return, has also dropped off a bit (this trade is an exception, it was fair)
Lehkonen was an overpay at the time, but he has thrived since.
Edmundson and Anderson both fit into the Chiarot territory of size > skill. Anyone who buys on anderson would be blind to the bigger picture of how they harm their team financially beyond the year to get an asset that is cheaper somewhere else.

Timo to Detroit fair trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wqrrior</b></div><div>I've seen so many severe overpays for Meier that assessing "fair" is difficult. It's refreshing to see someone not demanding the moon and more for Meier, because he was really overrated on here for a while.
That said, I do think Berggren is a pretty high tier asset, so asking an equivalent would still be pretty valuable. I don't know Detroits system to know what that replacement would be. But they should have it.
Pelletier, Dube and a 1st is a more in-line calgary comparable... Detroit shouldn't be moving firsts at this time. If they do it would structure similarly to Debrincat's trade.</div></div>
How is that more in line? Roughly speaking:
Ruzicka = Berggren
Dube = Zadina (this is being generous considering his production this year)
Zadorov = Erne
Meier should return roughly similar to DeBrincat, probably a bit less since you don't get the full season

I'm saying to replace Berggren with a similarly valued prospect that has less of a spot on Detroits system.</div></div>
For it to be mutually beneficial, SJ at least needs one guy who has a high chance of turning into a PPG player. I don't know if that's Berggren or someone else but that's kind of the minimum.
They are actually going to want two pieces that can potentially replace Meier or be as good.

I think the Canes would take that, but will probably shoot to lower the price a little. As for the Fast signing, he has no motivation to sign that for SJ. If he signs that it’s with either NYR or the Canes.

EK65 has a NMC.
Players fight over NMCs in contract negotiations because they don't want to be moved off their new team against their will.
IMO, EK65 will play out his contract with San Jose and then sign with Ottawa when it expires in 2027.

Niemela + 1st + additional assets could get us a top-6 forwards
AND we can do a 2 1sts package as well, i dont think we're short on assets when it comes to top-6 wingers EVEN IF we don't move Knies
