Yeah that's about all he does, Not worth 5 x $5,500,000 for a guy who has only one 40 point season and the rest in the 20-30 point range.

But he's on the Habs! That automatically means he's worth a 1st!

Yeah delusional Hab fans, think that all of their players are worth a 1st.

Toffoli is worth a 3rd...max
Lehkonen is worth a 4th, maybe a 5th...max
No one would pay more than a 6th for Chiarot...max
As for Kulak, you should be happy to receive future considerations...max, of course

Same vibes here with these comments

What’re your thoughts on Dallas being the best fit? Khudobin cap dump, they’re probably not qualifying Gurianov…

Your question should be: do you believe Tyler Seguin and Josh Anderson would be a dangerous duo? And my answer would be: abso-f***ing-lutely.

Jeff Petry is worth a 1st+
Dvorak will cost a 1st+ (only Bergevin was willing to overpay for him)
Monahan who was just dumped with a 1st returns a 1st+
Habs fans were even trading Price for huge returns in the offseason

Just because someone plays for the Habs doesn’t mean they’re worth a 1st+

Also, I don’t think anybody said Toffoli or Lehkonen were worth that little. And most people thought someone would overpay for Chiarot, just not a 1st

31 fanbases KNOW Josh Anderson is trash value

1 fanbase thinks he (and all their other bad value players) is golden.

And people wonder why I have no patience for habs fans

As for last year - EVERYONE knows certain habs players were grossly overpaid. Just because it happened once doesn't mean that that DEFINES the value for other crap.
Let's look at how those teams are faring now.

Florida got nowhere with Chiarot and lost a valuable asset with no gain. Detroit then signed him for too much and he has not been good.
Kulak has dropped off significantly and has been nothing more than a bottom pair D
Toffoli, while honestly he did go for the right return, has also dropped off a bit (this trade is an exception, it was fair)
Lehkonen was an overpay at the time, but he has thrived since.

Edmundson and Anderson both fit into the Chiarot territory of size > skill. Anyone who buys on anderson would be blind to the bigger picture of how they harm their team financially beyond the year to get an asset that is cheaper somewhere else.

I'm sorry to be blunt but saying that "Monahan who was just dumped with a 1st returns a 1st+" is plainly a dumb comment

The value of an asset is based on what it can bring to you in the future, not how much it cost to acquire it

Seems like the 30 other teams win the Anderson Derby by not acquiring him. In the Habs case, they have won the SuperBall lottery with the trade. Dallas....looks likes similar to a similar Texas trade.....when people bought Enron stock at 80 dollars.

My track record on this site speaks for itself. Quite accurate in my predictions of the value we’ve gotten for players we’ve moved.

Lol. Quite delusional! Go have some humble pie kiddo and layoff the drugs!

Why would a bottom six player like Anderson get a first round pick? Sure he’s big and fast, but he doesn’t produce. That is the exact mold of a bottom six grinder

Only one first round pick? This guy was charging NJD two 1st round picks for Anderson

I never realised donkey derbies were part of the NHL. Is it a new 'All-Star' game feature? Needless to say the Stars pass.

I mean my team pulled a 1st for CHiarot I would probably think the same lol

You're making up bs to push a narrative. I think most people believed Toffoli and Lekhonen could get a 2nd +

I mean…the Stars decline, but you knew that when you made this ACGM.

Montreal is the team that gave him the stupidly long 7-year, $38.5M contract & they are going to have to reap what they’ve sowed. No team is giving you a 1st for a guy that’s being paid roughly double what he’s worth, especially not with the questions still surrounding the salary cap.

Dallas would be better off promoting Johnston or Dellandrea from the 3rd line than paying $5.5M to put Josh Anderson in a top-6 role.

If Anderson was a rental, he would have higher value than he has right now. Why would a team want such an expensive contract for so long?

He hardly even does that 😂 I’m pretty sure last time I checked a couple days ago, Tim Stutzle had the same amount of hits as him

Habs are focused on developing our young players this season. Doesn’t change the value of Anderson across the league. He’s a really good hockey player.

No he isn’t. He literally has a negative xWAR and WAR. He is quite literally losing games for the Canadiens.

All those players listed are significantly better than Anderson and all have cheaper, and shorter contracts. They also probably didn’t have a negative wins above replacement. Anderson is making the Habs lose more games

Monahan is really bringing a lot to the table with his 0 WAR and -0.3 xWAR.

Im not disagreeing with you lol. Im just saying whenever Habs fans get called out for being too optimistic about the returns their players get they always mention the CHiarot trade.

Have you ever heard of the phrase “if you throw enough mud at the wall, some of it will stick”. Habs fans were “correct” in ONE take, out of many and somehow makes them super knowledgeable. It’s quite funny
