I saw it more as, a streaky ppg winger, a goalie that seems to want out, a prospect that doesn't seem to have a spot in Minnesota, and a late first, for a potential franchise center at 2OA and a solid top 6 forward

I'm just curious, what do you think the big downsides are for a 2 year deal? We would have about $15 million in cap in this scenario for the 23-24 season, which I think would be more than enough for what we would need at that time. And then in the 24-25 season this deal would be off the books and the larger buyout seasons would have more cap dedicated to the expiring ELCs

I agree, but kaprizov can make any center look good. He made Victor Rask look almost reasonable for a little bit. I think pairing him with a more proven center would still be worth it

this is my unprofessional opinion, but i would say maybe an extra prospect or 2nd round pick with what i have now. Probably something like fiala and dumba for two picks in the first two rounds and a prospect. But I am not sure, I haven't seen a lot of fiala and dumba packages

yes it would be unprotected. I figured a prospect that was drafted top 10 a year ago and a long shot at a lottery pick for bedard would be worth it

My idea is that by taking a chance on a 2023 pick, its taking a long shot at winning a lottery for Bedard. I think that's worth the gamble, even if its not great odds

But as for Menell, why not include him as an asset for a C?
PS love the PK idea. It’ll never happen but I love it.</div></div>

I posted another ACGM idea up, I’d love to hear both of your guys feedback and if I’m any closer to a proper value. This is of course with the condition that hertl is able to be traded and not off the market which he could well be

That’s because he just won’t be dealt, he’s the sharks best player and has shown willingness to stay in SJ. To get him our socks need to be blown off.
Now say it’s the TDL and Hertl doesn’t want to stay or wants too much, then you look for a mark stone style trade and sign for a first and a prospect not as good as Boldy probably.</div></div>
I see. Would you see a first, second, and a prospect like beckman or dewar as equivalent?

Hopeful Ideas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RazWild</b></div><div>Listen, I may be primarily a Wild fan, but I've been a Penguins and Sharks fan since the 90's. Lemieux and that Pens team got me into hockey when I was a kid, and I have followed the Sharks since they came into the league.
So I get it, I really do. But he really isn't one. The Sharks haven't had a legitimate 1C since Pavelski left. Hertl for as good as he is, he's a middle-rung 2C. Just like Mikko Koivu was for the Wild. They're more than capable of handling top line center duties, but really should be on the 2nd line on a cup contending team.
As a Sharks fan, I love Hertl, but he isn't what you're trying to make him out to be. He's not a 1st line center, at least not a true legitimate one. He can handle the role, but it's not ideal, and he would only hold down the spot until Rossi is ready to take it over.
If Koivu was the same age as Hertl is now, and had 1 year left on his contract, would you trade a prospect of Boldy's caliber for him? I wouldn't, and Koivu is my favorite Wild player of all time.</div></div>
I’m curious then, what would you see the wild giving up in a trade to get hertl then?
