Where can I hide Kase until Faulk goes somewhere
Personally I hope we don't trade for either Faulk or Ceci
Faulk would cost us too much, and Ceci isn't any better than 3rd pairing guys we already have

If you can't see why ANA fans are excited about Kase then feel free to take a long slow walk to another corner of this website.
Lets Consider:
Would Faulk be helpful for the Ducks next year? Yes. Obviously.
But Faulk has 1 year remaining on his current contract. After that we either over pay him or he walks. A rebuilding/retooling team like ANA has very little use for that.
So the way I read this one singular variant of the numerous presented trade options is:
Two 1sts for Kase
So yeah, TLDR: easy pass, friendo.

Remember when Laine was going to be a Duck tomorrow

Quoting: Claesson4Norris

I kinda think it will be Kase though. He's young, but not that young, and injuries have held him back from truly having that breakout season. With other young forwards like Steel and Comtois coming through the pipeline, and other guys like Silfverberg and Rackell locked up with term, Anaheim may (wrongly) look at Kase as someone they can afford to move to address a huge hole.
We can debate the merits of whether that would be a smart move, but I can at least see how they could come to that decision.

I hate that you are making sense. And I hope that you are wrong. But I can't refute your arguments.
All I can do is knock on wood:|

No thanks. Trading away a young rising star forward for 1 year of a solid RD is a losing deal

Are these right Im a Blues fan
Not too far off, but
1) Miller is the back up. Stolarz will likely go down to the AHL
2) Terry plays on the right side (Likely on the 3rd line)
3) Kase is poised for a breakout season and will likely to start on the 1st line
4) Fowler will start on the right side to accommodate whichever rookie he is paired with (basically just swap him and Guhle and I think you got it)
5) 3rd pairing will likely feature 1-2 rookies. Holzer is a career 7th d-man, and Del Zotto is a "just in case" signing
But overall, pretty good lines. I doubt I could do better trying to make lines for the Blues

Thoughts
Kase seems poised for a breakout year. (fingers-crossed, knock on wood) So I'm not too keen on the idea of trading him right before his value skyrockets
But more importantly, he's may favorite player on the team. So to be fair, you will need to trade us your favorite player. No cheating. No takesies-backsies. Deal?

rebuild
Buffalo Trade = Pass: Shore is an excellent young bottom 6 guy. Trading him for a bag of pucks hurts the rebuild
Chicago Trade = Accept!: Giving MTL our 4th for Deslauriers was a dumb move in the first place. At least we can recoup that loss here. Besides, we can just pickup Grant mid-season after he is inevitably put on waivers. (And then all hail the re-re-return of our favorite No.1 elite center Derek Grant!)
Edmonton Trade = Pass: Rowney has value as a 4th liner. Archibald is a healthy scratch on the right side
Montreal Trade = Pass: Silf has proven himself for many years and still projects to be a solid middle 6 winger for the foreseeable future. No sense in trading him for a bottom sixer unless MTL bumps that pick from a 2nd to a 1st.
Toronto Trade = Pass: Hampy is our best defender. You gotta trade talent to get talent.
Columbus Trade = Pass: Wow. Just wow. ANA rejects this offer and tells CBJ to "Lose my number."
Nashville Trade = Pass: Actually, I think both parties say pass on this one. 1) ANA would like to keep The Captain in town for as long as possible as he is the face of the franchise. 2) Nashville isn't interested in an over-priced, aging, center coming off his worst year in a decade
Sooo, TLDR 1/7

Offer PTO to create competition
There is already plenty of competition on D, After our top 3, we have Guhle, Larsson, Mahura, Hakanpaa, Holzer, and Del Zotto. That's 6 Defenders vying for the last 3 spots. May the best man win

Canucks pay to dump on the Ducks

Quoting: Ragsandbluesfan

For 1 year it poses no risk

Sure, but it also offers very little benefit. I'm still looking at this trade and asking "What's in it for us?"
As I see it:
1) Replacing Grant with Sutter on the 4th line = minor upgrade
2) Replacing Larsson/Hakanpaa with Tanev on the 3rd pair RD = minor upgrade
3) Replacing our 6th round pick with a 3rd = minor upgrade
I mean, I guess there is no downside but...helping out a division rival while getting nothing significant in return kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth...hem, haw, hem, haw...Okay, fine, make it a 2nd round pick and I'm on board
