What it takes for tkachuk
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rokk</b></div><div>Dear Flames fans,
I feel your pain, but here's what it takes to Tkachuk. Best Offer! I mean you can go to arbitration, keep him for a year than lose him for the nothing. There's always that option OR you can accept the best offer from the results of the bidding war. Bottom line, you honestly have no leverage in these negotiations.
Something is always better than nothing. You'd think you'd know this after Gaudreau.</div></div>
Flames can trade him at the deadline. You really only need 4 teams to drive the price up now, and more than 4 will be desperate then. Brinkmanship!

My lineups part 19
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rokk</b></div><div>The Isles struggle in the regular season because they go on a tear for 10 to 15 games, then they take their foot of the gas and suck for 10 to 15 games. If they stayed consistent the entire season they'd likely be a threat for top spot in the division and clinch a play off birth early and not making fans hold their breath until the last week or two of the season.</div></div>
Tbf though and im not trying to make excuses, just trying to understand why theyre so good in the playoffs and so meh in the regular season, they had key injuries. In 19-20 pelech was out for a major stretch of the regular season and when he was healthy they were dominant. Then he came back bc of the covid pause and they once againwere a top 5 team.
Same in 20-21. When lee was healthy they lead the division. Then he got injured and they were at best ok even after getting palmieri who scored 2 goals in 17 games. Once the playoffs came and palms found his game, they were once again a great team. I think if this year we avoid injuries to key players, we will dominate in both regular season and the playoffs.

I'm starting to believe this as well. It's not a bad move if they rotate one of the young guys in the lineup to keep everyone fresh. Chara is still in great shape regardless of his age and has a wealth of experience that would be beneficial to have around our young defensemen.

If Chara’s there to alternate shifts with Bolduc or Salo, I’d be all over this. And while he’s definitely lost a step, he still contributed last year. If it’s a league minimum deal, I’d do it

No, I know what happened in terms of the numbers game, I'm just disappointed he never got to play again except for those couple of games. He's better than waiver fodder. He's as good a bottom pairing guy as there is in the NHL.

Fortunately NHL Executives in Ottawa have the same lifespan of a Common Housefly. He shouldn't last a year.
For real though, I can't think of a job I'd be less excited to have him doing. I wouldn't want him anywhere near the young players in the organization. He's such a creep.

Geno possibly out long term pulling the Tampa Trick
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rokk</b></div><div>Sorry it wasn't Cooper it was Brisebois.</div></div>
No worries I knew what you meant. If the league thought something was wrong I don't think they'd say anything to Tampa about it sending someone. It might not have been someone from the league there a good chance they would contract it out. They only asked Brisebois for the paperwork but that's not saying they didn't send someone maybe they found nothing wrong and all they needed was the official paperwork so they could file it away.

Isles
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rokk</b></div><div>I think you misread the original post. He was saying that because of Palmeiri's style of play his career was almost up. I then stated that Marchand plays the same type of style and he seems to be doing just fine at 33. A character guy to me is a guy is a guy that brings it every single night not just with skill but with grit and heart by playing hard every game. Just because he's a super star doesn't mean he's any less a character guy. Players are allowed to be both. Palmeiri may not be a superstar in this league, but he brings it every night and plays hard. I just find it hypocritical to say his career will end early because he's not Marchand.</div></div>
There are exceptions to the rule in every sport, Brady still great, Lebron still great. Giving Palmieri a long term deal would be a massive mistake, I think you can get away with 4 million for 3, which <a href="/users/isles777" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@isles777</a> disagrees with. He'd be an idiot to sign that deal anyway. But 5-6 years, 5-6 million per, you're looking at a player that's unmovable and unplayable for the last 2-3 years of that deal. I'm extremely skeptical of what Lee will be in 2-3 years, especially after the knee injury.

Varlamov doesn’t deserve to play right now and the team knows that. The playoffs is a mental grind as it is, the team shouldn’t have to worry about their coach scratching the MVP of the 1st round, again. It’s a fireable offense to start varlamov.</div></div>
The one thing to remember is that varly dominates the Bs and against a team like that varlys style might be better than sorokins (the bigger goalie as opposed to freakishly athletic)

again, you aren't going to beat the penguins in a skills match, they are way deeper than you and have better talent.
If it's a skills game you already lost.
That's the game that the penguins want to play. If NY is gonna win, they are going to have to drag the penguins down into the gutter. Which is exactly what your 4th line does. Don't count on Barzal and wahlstrom to do that.
