I agree ARI probably claims Poolman off waivers and Dickinson potentially being a fit with NYI (but for way less). The Pearson deal is interesting but I wonder if we could get them to include Dorofeyev instead of the picks. UFA signings aren't good though.</div></div>
I need another depth forward I think from UFA I thought Barabanov could be solid energy guy or bring back Chaisson but overall I feel like we need a dman and Lyu was the best guy we could get without risking another Poolman/Myers situation

Why would we sign Mikheyev?
Why would the Islanders pay a second for Dickinson?
Why are we playing Podkolzin on the fourth line?</div></div>
-Eetu Luostarainen is insane
-Jim said we need more speed on the team Mikhaeyev is speed
-Islanders want to fit now and Dickinson fits trots' system
-Depth! It's something the canucks have always sucked with (injuries are inevitable and I'd rather have to play a 3rd line guy on the 4th line when 100% healthy than a 4th on the 3rd when an injury happens)

Bad for both teams... Byron is expensive but Montreal can afford him and he is a useful player. Not only will Hamonic refuse to report to Montreal, Vancouver needs defense so bad Byron does not even come close to Vancouver's needs

If this is you doing your best Benning impression you nailed it! Overspending on free agents that will screw us! 9.4 MM for Barrie! Are you crazy! DId you see him in Toronto! Also you can't just put Roussel and Beagle on LTIR bc you feel like it. Rafferty has played 1 game this year why are you giving him 2.5?????? Oesterle is a third pairing guy worth 3 M at most

With their Cap situation I can't see them adding any big talents but where they need help is in net. Fleury is an easy acquire and he has proven this season he really is solid. Goaltending has always been Nashville's big issue in the playoffs. The other additions in the bottom 6 that will help take pressure off of the Top 6 who are the only people doing anything in Nashville

This is more of a sounding board for additions you think Canucks should make! I personally think Podkolzin will slot in the Forwards next season but bringing in defensive depth will be critical for any success

The issue is Ottawa could get better players and be paid picks to take them. Tyler Johnson and Alex Killorn to Ottawa along with a first or 2 to take that cap... It just doesn't make a lot sense for the sens' roster... Giving up cap this year is expensive

Ottawa gets interesting
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sensibleguy</b></div><div>Seriously though...
I'm very much of the opinion that these young players have lots to prove. With Tyler Johnson each of those years, his TOI has gone down because Tampa has gotten better and better. He used to be a #2 center and now he's #4 on Tampa. I think bringing in some guys who can put up 40-50 points like Johnson will be helpful in the long run. Ottawa also doesn't wanna rush these prospects and these contracts won't be getting in the way cap-wise due to those young players playing on ELCs . I strongly believe both in this prospect pool but Ottawa is doing the right thing by not rushing them. Steutzle, JBD isn't joining the team until 2021-22 season minimum. As for the rest of those young guys they have the room to play them if Ottawa thinks they are ready but this ensures they have the roster players if not. (Batherson is a prospect I have in the lineup because I think he'll make it out of training camp)</div></div>

Ottawa gets interesting
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DiehardRedWingsFan58</b></div><div>Let's not get ahead of ourselves here, Ottawa is going to be a very dynamic team here shortly. But even teams with the most talent doesn't always translate to cup contending teams. There has been tons of teams in the past that had talent and what it took to win cups but yet never had. Right now on paper Colorado is the best team but being the best doesn't guarantee you cup success takes a lot of things to go right to win a cup.</div></div>
On paper, Tampa is the best team!!! Like hands down and have been for years but you are right that they will likely get knocked out in the first round in that year but Johnson and Killorn will likely not mind playing there if they are making playoffs. The real stopper on this trade comes from Melnyk never wanting to spend money

NTCs are very avoidable... Just put Johnson on waivers and Ottawa claims him and in return gets the first same with Killorn... Very doable... And the thing is Tampa, has tried to no avail to give up these players and a move like this will likely be necessary to keep everyone
Also yeah more like not this year but next for Ottawa (I'm not even an Ottawa fan) but they will be good with JBD and Steutzle joining their lineup the next year
