absolute unit who plays hard and cellies harder. I want him to be Wood's replacement. Can play up the lineup in a pinch.

This is an interesting offer. First one with Holtz or Mercer I haven't immediately said to myself "man I hope not".

I’m guessing you are using the Giordano trade as a comparable for Dumba. I do think that would work out, but it won’t be to Seattle. Get a third team to retain some on Dumba and I think the trade works out perfectly. Canes I imagine would accept, but if the plan for next season is to run it back, I don’t know anymore. The other trades are pretty reasonable to. Not bad. Good job.

Considering the little leverage the Wild truly have, they should take this if they were smart. Sharangovich can slot into ur top 6, Smith can slide into ur D pairings, and a mid round pick</div></div>
Smith is surplus to requirements. And Sharangovich isn't a legit top 6er. And a mid round licker is nothing. Especially with a late rounder going the other way
And you're reasoning for bot being willing to move Hiltz is because he is supposed to be future 30 goal scorer? Lmfao you do realize you're getting a proven 30 goalscorer in return, right? How does that go over your head?
I'll never understand how so many hockey fans can't wrap their head around the whole "you have to give up good pieces to get to good pieces" part of negotiations

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SimonSelaars3</b></div><div>I was just curious, none of our opinions mean anything on here but realism is respected. That’s why I asked.</div></div>
I think a lot of us on the internet have no idea what's gonna happen with Fiala. The range of outcomes is wide. How many teams is he willing to sign with, what teams will Guerin let his agent talk to, if Ottawa/LA choose to go the UFA route what does the market look like, how aggressive with Lou be, who can fit Fiala's contract demands
I can see him being cheap. I can see him being expensive. I don't want the Devils to give up a top 10 pick, Holtz, Hughes, Mercer or Sharangovich but I can see the latter being moved.

I think this is the kind of pain Devils fans have to be willing to deal with to get a player like Fiala. We aren't trading spare parts and things we don't care about for that talent.
It comes down to 2OA, Sharangovich or Holtz as a key piece.

IDK about that Devils trade. Guerin might have to add some picks. Remember, the Wild have no leverage.

Carolina deal is my favorite personally, though we might only be able to get a 2nd instead of a 1st (which I would still probably prefer over all of these). I'm not quite as high on Necas as I was last year, but I still think he can be a good 60-70 point player. I think the 2023 draft will be better than this year's so if we do end up getting that first, which will probably be a late one, it should be as good as the mid-teens picks in this year's draft.

I’ve been told he’s a natural center but the Canes have good centers and figured he’d be more useful at RW so they stuck him there. I think if Necas were to put on a Wild sweater come fall that they would at least have to try him at center. I know Hartman just had a great season but he’s a natural winger and had a few droughts throughout the season. I just think that Necas is more skilled than Hartman and would be able to keep up with 97 and 36 better than Hartman does.</div></div>
Agreed! I think the Wild would for sure try him at C. I believe Hartman also was pretty bad on face offs.

Intention was to develop him into a C but way things unfolded in Carolina with so much C depth last couple years it made more sense to keep him at winger. Believe he wants to transition to C but could slot in either way and be an impact player in the top 6.

Would really like this as canes fan. I hate letting Necas go - he’s had a tough year but I think he’ll break out somewhere else and that’ll be tough to watch but think this makes a ton of sense for both sides.

I like this but I think Nino is more realistic than Troch at this point. He’ll be a bit cheaper and won’t need as much term. Troch would be a nice safety net if KK can’t handle 2C but I just think he’ll get hard to compete with offers even if he’s willing to take a slight discount to stay.
If that were the case we could also get a slight upgrade from Soucy on that third pair - I wouldn’t mind Zadarov personally.
Also agree with you on the Necas Fiala base deal - trade makes sense for both side imo.

Got it. Thanks. For a moment I wondered if maybe this ACGM felt Seattle owed Minnesota a 2nd rounder for taking Rask off their hands! (Well, "1/2" Rask, that is!)

I think that if you want the Wild to package Dumba & Fiala together, you're going to have to pony up someone like JJP or Quinn. Ryan Johnson is a good prospect but Minnesota is pretty stocked in LHD prospects (Lambos/O'Rourke/Daemon Hunt) so his value is lesser for them than it might be for another team. I do, however, think that if you give up one of those higher-end, close to the NHL prospects, you can unload Anders Bjork on them - otherwise I see them resisting getting him in a package since he's not a very useful player at this point.
