Within 100k. That's impressive.
Related, has anyone done an analysis to determine mathematically how accurate EvolvingWild's contract model actually is? I know anecdotally it's the best one but I haven't seen any data on it.

I get it's super long, but he's the player they most needed to retain to contend for a cup again next year. It's an overpay for sure, but a necessary one to keep the cup window open.
The one key UFA left that I'd seriously look at signing is Burakovsky (unless Manson wants a super cheap deal). If not, time to focus on getting Lehkonen/Sturm/Aube Kubel done.

(MTL/VGK) - Weber for Dadonov
The trade is fine value for the Habs in a vacuum but disappointing given what the Ducks would have got for taking on Dadynov at the deadline (and they were able to dump Moore in that deal as well). Still voted fair deal.

Probably 55 will be the higher pick of the two since it seems kind of unlikely the Rangers get worse next year to the point where they don't make the second round. On the other hand having the 2nd next year would be useful offseason/deadline fodder whether we're looking to retool or go for it again. I'd probably go with the Rangers pick. Worst case scenario we drop back a few spots, no big deal.

He ranked 25th in HDSV%, for comparison Mrazek ranked 64th out of 65 for HDSV%. Vejmelka was also a rookie this year and only 25. His SV% had way more to do with the quality of team and not him. If you watched him play this year you would know he was excellent at times but a bit streaky. That is something that can be fixed as he starts playing more</div></div>
Just curious, where are you getting your data from? I'm seeing 54/65 in HDSV% via MoneyPuck (with Mrazek at 61st). I'm not seeing any HD shots against column so I'm guessing you have a different source.

Leafs Coyotes trade idea
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMBL</b></div><div>Might be a pressure free environment for him to try making a bounce back,
The issue with the trade is that Arizona can sign FAs on one year deals to get the equivalent of a late 1st and they aren't getting a guy that costs little in real dollars + high cap hit for reaching the floor getting a (and seem to like their goalie too). They are going to want to tank this season especially too, so trading for Mrazek to flip him after a rebound (his buy out is cheap for them) isn't worth it</div></div>
I did see that his contract is back loaded which obviously lessens the fit for a cash strapped team. Agree with the point about it being a good environment for a bounce back year.
I think the main concern here obviously is giving up Vejmelka, who they obviously value higher than me :squintytongue. I think if Mrazek put up similar numbers to for instance, Scott Wedgewood this year it wouldn't hurt the tank too much, and obviously if he stinks it actively helps it.
The point about signing rental free agents is true, but this doesn't diminish their ability to do that, and those players would have to play well enough that they'd be helping the Yotes win games; which obviously conflicts with the goal of tanking. I think taking on cap dumps, especially ones that double as reclamation projects, is the best way to go for them. But that's just my take.

And i doubt Petr Mrazek is dying to play in the 5,000 seat dump for the next 2 years anyways.</div></div>
First off, thanks for the feedback. Second, it kind of surprises me how much you guys are valuing Vejmelka; I don't think he's necessarily bad, but his numbers this year were sub-par in both traditional SV% and GSAX, which accounts for shot quality. He seems like more of a 1B type long term than a starter, which is basically what Mrazek was before his poor performance this season.
The other thing is that Arizona is pretty obviously tanking next season and although having at least somewhat competent goaltending would help make them look respectable, it's also counterproductive in terms of helping their lottery position. IMO another 1st round pick this year would do wonders for their prospect pool and personally I don't mind this cost at all from their perspective.
Again, appreciate the feedback to hear some others' thoughts.

Maybe even if not. Either way, I think they'd look to package him with Dadynov to clear up some more space, not a cheap young guy in Patrick.
If we're thinking about goalie cap dumps, to me the Mrazek one has always seemed the most sensible for the Yotes. They'd almost certainly get a good return for it and he's only got a couple years left.

I'd pass on that as Winnipeg. Value isn't <em>awful</em> but it doesn't really fit our needs.
The JVR trade looks fine. Kings trade looks good value wise but I could see LA passing because of positional needs. They're loaded at forward and not super deep on d next year. Having said that for that kind of value they could probably find a replacement through FA or via trade to make it work.
