That’s a fair price for a rental of Giroux’s calibre but at that point use the assets on a younger player

I think Canucks would pay a 3rd maximum for Sprong. If DET wants more we can always sign him in the offseason

Kuzmenko is struggling a bit this season, but he’s still a major difference maker. No point in swapping him for someone who was unnoticeable last night

In what world does Monahan go for more than typical deadline rentals? Horvat didn't even go for as much as your homer deal. If Monahan gets traded it'll be for closer than the proposed deal than whatever package that is

Deadline Prediction
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>oilfire</b></div><div>Isn't Myers in a weird situation, with his salary being front loaded this year, so any retention is basically a technicality?
Trade comparisons are kinda silly. The price is whatever someone will pay. I'm looking at you Jeannot.</div></div>
Really the only difference between Zadorov and Myers is that there seems to be a market for Zadorov, not really anything major separates the two

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KingofRnR</b></div><div>What do you know that I don’t!?
With retention, he’ll for sure fetch the equivalent of a 1st at the Deadline, especially if he goes with an extension negotiated before hand and signed upon arrival
Too much interest and demand for him not too. The Highest Bid Wins a Bidding War, not the Lowest….</div></div>
Does that mean Myers goes for a 1st too? He's been debatably better than Zadorov this season

Brodie is 33 and a pending UFA. If the Canucks were to trade a 2nd and a 3rd for a defencemen it'll be for a RHD or a young gun who fits with the core, not someone who's retiring when we contend

Kuzy traded
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Lol Horvat was scoring at an absurdly lucky rate. If you think his return was based on a 22% shooting percent you are completely out to lunch. Lindholm is a far better player all around than Horvat. I expect Lindholm will get a better return than Lindholm simply out of being a clearly better hockey player.</div></div>
Lindholm isn’t significantly better than Horvat to be “clearly a better hockey player”. Both can play 1C in a pinch, but in no way are they 1C’s on true contenders. You’d be lucky to get a significant prospect along with the deal proposed above.
