seems low for Perron, no? consistent 20-goal scorer, still only going to be 34 by next season. can see him taking a 'hometown discount' to stay in STL, and maybe i'm crazy here, but 2 years under 2 mil seems low for him to me

so much wrong with this, from the DET trade that would never happen, to that ludicrous Samsonov contract, having Petrov in the lineup next year as a 19 year old with 1 OHL year's experience... back to the drawing board imo

Eh no real need for Gillies, but if it's him or a 7th it doesn't really matter. I see the trade as mutually beneficial; NJD get a goalie to finish the year, and EDM gets some cap relief to facilitate other moves.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>arafay</b></div><div>Ahh, I see, I misunderstood the svechnikov penalties. But still, I don’t mind that part alone.
As I said in the description, I’m not blaming the refs for this loss. The jets played terrible for the first 50 mins of the game. No excusing that. However, the refs were still the difference in the game, and there’s no excusing that either.
On the scoresheet, the jets got hurt from reffing. A 1 goal deficit isn’t hard to overcome (especially when you are dominating play) unless you are hurt by the reffing, which the jets were.
The oilers had 5 powerplays, what’s your point? The point isn’t how many powerplay each team had, it’s about the frustration gafs the refs had in the last 10 mins.
Schiefele also has nothing to do with the refs.
You here basically just said a bunch of mumbo jumbo without addressing the actual point I am trying to make. The refs need some form of accountability.</div></div>
i just disagree with your premise that the reffing was bad enough to warrant a post here. hardly the difference in the game to my eye, but to each his own

Winnipeg had 6 powerplays, i think blaming the refs for this game is embarrassing. Svech didn't get a major, he got 2 extra minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct which was likely a result of ****-talking the refs, but wasn't shown on the broadcast. Jets had nothing going all game until the SHG to my eye, and the refs were far from the problem imo. Scheifele was invisible

Realistic Oiler RD Deadline Targets
Lyubushkin/Braun would be nice as rentals, but Mayfield in NYI would be a good longer-term option. maybe even Schenn from VAN. some under the radar and potentially not even available options would be Artem Zub, Dylan DeMelo, Philippe Myers, Matt Roy, Jani Hakanpaa. but swapping out Barrie for a more defensively sound RHD is a priority for the team imo

Puljujarvi out for 4 weeks
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Stuey4Vezina</b></div><div>Hyman has been simply magnificent with McDavid since Woodcroft took over, so I wouldn't touch him. McLeod has been great with Draisaitl, He produces a bit more with him so He can replace Yamo on that 2nd line. IMO, Yamo into Puljujarvi's spot and McLeod into the 2nd line is the best option for lineups we have rn.</div></div>
i think this lineup makes the most sense. agree on the McLeod+Draisaitl chemistry, they've looked great together in albeit short minutes, and Kane looks to be getting up to speed and learning how to play with Drai as well. Yamo is a good Puljujarvi replacement for his forechecking/puck retrievals, and Hyman+McD work very well together so i'd leave them be. Third line has been excellent under Jay, so i also wouldn't touch that. Maybe we see a Malone or Griffith/Marody call up, but otherwise i mentally put together this exact same lineup. curious to see how they'll fare to end the month against some elite competition

Habs are getting a 24 year old goalie ... HOw many games did price play this year?</div></div>
maybe my first comment was too harsh, but i still don't see MTL being interested at all in spending a 1st round pick in a rebuilding year. this is their time to be building draft capital, not spending it imo

long term?? 2 years after this one... not that NYI is the right team for Barrie necessarily, but a puck-moving RHD is still a valuable commodity, especially for teams with struggling PPs, regardless of the CapFriendly mob's perspective

Frank Seravalli says this could be Scheifs last season in Winnipeg
i've personally always thought Scheifele has been fairly overrated; if the Jets could get a nice haul for him (which they should be able to) i'd say it would be worth it. 10 team NTC might make it a bit more difficult, but i'd imagine there would still be lots of interest

Eh, I think Lagesson + 3rd for non-retained CDH is a decent offer. If they want a different prospect, or to retain and get a 2nd, I'd look at targeting someone else from EDM's perspective, and trading with someone else from CHI's. Thanks for the feedback :)

Likely aim to get a 2nd rounder or prospect (of use to CHI) + 3rd/4th</div></div>
What position does CHI need in terms of prospects?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mulicked</b></div><div>These are great solutions. I would be inclined to try and target Husso alternatively. Moves like this would be excellent.</div></div>
I really don't see STL having any interest in moving Husso this year, but he would be great in EDM. But with Holtby as a 1-year rental, EDM could look at signing Husso as a UFA in the summer for free. My other goalie target would be Reimer in SJS, but with him and Smith both being signed next year it complicates things a bit, since Skinner will require waivers then.

I agree it's a lot. Defensemen have such inflated values, especially around the TDL though, and I think Manson solves a lot of EDM's problems. Maybe make the 1st a 2023 2nd, or alter the prospect from Lavoie.

ARI is definitely an underpay; they have no need for someone of Zucker's age imo so taking him would cost PIT. From what I've heard, ARI wants to keep Crouse, so they'd need a better offer than that to part with him imo.
As said above, MTL doesn't have much motivation to downgrade their goaltending for that package. Plus with retention they'd ask for more.
SEA trade looks underwhelming to me; 3 years of retention on Larsson alone would be expensive, not to mention McCann's value being higher than what is offered.

Moves next season to keep most of the band togetehr
Doesn't seem overly realistic for a few reasons to me:
Why would the Sharks pay a 2nd to downgrade their goaltending?
Arizona is in no position to be giving up draft picks. And getting rid of Ritchie would cost Toronto, not net them an upgrade pick.
Calvin De Haan won't be signing that contract.
No taxi squad next year, so you'd have to figure out a better solution for Holl, and would be in trouble when injuries come up.

Arizona only has 1 retention slot left, and my money would be on them using it on Kessel. Otherwise flipping Dadonov isn't a bad idea.
