Looking Ahead
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SupremeOverlord14</b></div><div>1) If we gave that to get Connor Brown then I will personally give Holland the nastiest kiss ever.
2) Even as someone who is a Mike Smith fan I like the idea of trading him to Arizona, but that is a wild trade and very unnecessary. It's a low return for Mike Smith alone, who is not a on a bad contract, just a bad year. Add in a 3rd and a prospect and then I'd say that the future considerations better score 60 points next season. Lastly trading Klefbom is utterly unnecessary, he does not count against the cap. So that trade would not only take my kiss back from Holland, but I would probably make him kiss my fist.</div></div>
Getting rid of Klefbom's contract would help Edmonton get out of LTIR for the year, so they can actually accrue cap space ahead of the deadline. Being stuck in LTIR all year again will prevent that for another year, so imo it's worth looking to offload his contract. And getting rid of Smith is a necessity imo, would be hard to run a Smith/Skinner combo next year.
Point is fairly taken about C. Brown, and the return would clearly need to be adjusted.
TY all for the feedback

Binnington blocks that trade with his NTC imo. You guys are likely stuck with him at minimum until his NTC expands ahead of the 24/25 season

Nice of you to retain $4 on Wheeler, but even with that generous retention FLA can't afford him. Nor would they be interested in him imo

sorry but that package is nowhere close for Seattle, even if they weren't retaining over $4M for you. with retention it would cost a lot more

TDL moves
That Arizona trade is needless imo, and I'd have to think Barrie for Soucy is closer to a 1-for-1. More of a hockey trade as each player fits their new team much better than they fit their current one; SEA is desperate for RHD as they only have Larsson for that atm, and they could use help on the PP. Soucy plays the right side, and is more of a physical, defensive presence for Edmonton

EDM TDL
MTL trade is arguable, but i personally don't think Allen is the best target. if Smith is the goalie going the other way i'd be more inclined but personally don't think it's worth it. The PHI trade on the other hand is completely asinine; Ceci has been Edmonton's most consistent D all year and is locked up whereas Braun is an aged UFA. makes no sense for Edmonton, not to mention adding a 2nd

TY for the feedback, Mr Dorion. Although I'd counter that if Forsberg isn't signed by the TDL, it would be foolish not to get assets back for him just to potentially lose him for nothing in FA. Could certainly argue about the package here for him, but I don't think it's drastically far off.

So... trade for Braun then scratch him? Not to mention both ARI and PHI reject those trades. Manson himself likely blocks the trade too.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BeterChiarelli</b></div><div>I'd love a tag in these moving forward! Excellent work.
I'm fine with chalking it up to not having the familiarity with the Oilers system or just deferring to BPA, but I don't think that the Oilers would look to take another two-way defender with offensive upside when Chesley offers a lot more of what they need. Not much for shutdown defenders in the system, especially behind Bouchard on the right side. Maybe Kemp? I don't know if Max Wanner becomes anything.</div></div>
If Edmonton keeps their 1st, which is seeming fairly likely, I'd be taking a long look at Chesley for them. To me, he's exactly what they need, and would be the perfect 2RD behind Bouchard moving forward.

tdl package deal
Edmonton won't have any interest in making that trade imo; Skinner looks solid and is signed next year for $750k, plus he's from the city which is always a bonus. Sammy has been inconsistent and will need a new >$2M contract next year. Not to mention the 1st round pick. Can't see it happening

not sure that's enough coming to Chicago to be worth it for them. if they're selling off, which it sounds like they are, they'd be better served doing it in separate deals to maximize return. otherwise Toronto would really have to knock their socks off with a deal, which this doesn't do imo

Edmonton Oilers signed Dmitri Samorukov (1 Year / $775,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>EmpressKayla</b></div><div>Let's focus on the player, shall we?
The fact that it's a one-way and a little above league minimum tells me that Samorukov has a good chance to make the team next year. That's important, as he becomes waiver eligible next year too. His NHL debut was a complete disaster, but there's nowhere to go but up for this pure defensive defenseman.</div></div>
i wouldn't call him a pure defensive defenseman, as he has some offensive instincts and can make some great passes. agree with everything else you said though

seems low for Perron, no? consistent 20-goal scorer, still only going to be 34 by next season. can see him taking a 'hometown discount' to stay in STL, and maybe i'm crazy here, but 2 years under 2 mil seems low for him to me
