I dont mind this trade but personally, if I were the Sens, I would elect not to pick up the Johnson contract and instead offer the islanders first round pick straight up for Murray.

Agree to disagree. I personally expect them to not keep brown and norris. Whichever one gets beat out for second line centre will be traded for assets. I like Cirelli and sees himself as a fit.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BeterChiarelli</b></div><div>The latest Askarov goes is #13 to the Hurricanes, and Cirelli seems gratuitous if you land Byfield at #3.
I'd recommend Perreault at #20 if the Devils trade goes through or Weisblatt at #28 if you don't flip the NYI pick.</div></div>
Sens are desperate for Centres which is why CIrelli would be a good fit. Having extra centres never hurts. Centres can play wing but the other way around isnt possible. Ideally, I see Byfield sliding in as top centre, norris or brown as the second line centre, and cirelli filling in either as a top 6 winger or a checking line centre going forward. I see Tierney being flipped at the deadline since he would be on a one year deal for some assets. Thats where I would see it playing out long term.

Might be a reach at 20. But could be possible if teams are weary about taking a goalie that high especially if its their only first round pick. But I do admit, it is a reach.

"Havent won a cup since 1967" yeah we heard that already and we dont care. Its as Lazy as asking Ottawa fans if Melnyk will extend his players. If the same thing is repeated like a broken record we aint interested in hearing about it. In general with the cap staying the same for 3 no player can't be greedy as teams wont be able to afford them. Even the teams with money will eventually lose it to the extensions. Rielly, Hyman, Freddie all wont be demanding much as Hyman has no care for money and just wants to play, freddie will be old so wont get a large contract, and Rielly knows the money situations of teams and knows no competitive teams will be able to afford him. He will take a bridge deal until the cap stabilizes.

Lol sorry I hit a nerve with you. With the abundance of talent up front you guys have, can you explain not being able to beat the bruins in the first round 2 of the last 3 years? Or committing 4 players to nearly half your cap and having them all be forwards? Or not being able to beat an ebug? And let me remind you, the only d u guys have signed going forward to next year are reilly holl, and muzzin. Will be real interesting to see how you guys continue this "succees" after your stars all got greedy and wanted to set the market.

I see Chicago making this trade for the same reason. Interested in Askarov and goaltenders normally dont go in top 10. Drop down 4 spots and pick up 2 2nd round picks.

Ottawa Senators Offseason 2020 Moves
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>csick</b></div><div>I think that’s fair to move up 4 spots. I don’t think Holtz makes it to 10. I can see Lundell and I’d take Lundell and move Stutzle to LW and Raymond to RW. Or take Askarov at 10</div></div>
I admit it might be a bit of a reach with Holtz at 10. Some reasoning behind making the trade on both sides:
Ottawa would make the trade I assume if a sniper is still available at 10, whether it be Holtz or Quinn (Quinn might be more realistic).
Chicago would make the trade because I see them potentially having an interest in Askarov and may be willing to move down a few picks as Goaltenders normally dont get drafted in top 10 while also getting 2 2nd round picks from Sens.
A few other notes: I see the Sens selecting Raymond at #5 with their own pick. Additionally, I think that Stutzle wouldnt be available at 3. I see the Kings selecting Stutzle over Byfield at 2 so Sens would select Byfield at 3.
Overall, I see the Sens selecting Byfield, Raymond, and making a trade with Chicago if Quinn or Holtz is still available.

Had to edit it. You must have commented when I did so. Yes traded with Islanders pick. 1st round pick (14th overall Islanders Pick assuming they lose the play in) and 2 2nd round picks (islanders and blue jackets) for 1st round pick (10th overall Chicago's pick assuming they lose the play in and dont win the draft lottery).

Realized that my top 3 for Sabres got cut off my bad.
IMO Sabres would pick Perfetti. Both Perfetti and Byfield have elite offensive numbers on elite OHL teams. Without question, if Byfield pans out and reaches his potential, I see Byfield being better than Perfetti. Frankly, if its a more sure thing that that happens, theres no way he reaches outside the top 5. I feel like if he doesn't pan out to his full potential, Perfetti is more versatile (can play center and wing) and is more offensively gifted with a higher hockey IQ than Byfield. However, i do see, if both are at 7, there is the potential that Byfield may be picked by the Sabres over Perfetti as you are also right in saying he would relieve the pressure off of Eichel.

Why I think Byfield might be a bust
Byfield has an enticing size/frame that makes him an attractive center. Combine that with the fact that he is almost a year younger than the rest of the draft means he has higher potential/upside. However, although it can be reasoned that his consistency and defensive side of the game (which need improvement) can improve as he ages and gets more mature, there are certain other aspects that make me believe he will be a bust. The fact that he doesn't use his size/frame to be more physical and engage in more puck battles really worries me. Also, a lot of his goals that he has scored have been more through transition (2 on 1, breakaway). That worries me because in the NHL, there will not be as much time and space and transition play as it is a much more tightly checked league than the OHL. He would need to work and produce in more versatile ways. Obviously, it is more than likely that Byfield will be able to improve on all these aspects and reach his potential. However, I still believe that he may project out to be a bust (still a solid NHL player but not as high as his potential suggests).

New Jersey is 6th right now, most they can jump up to is 4 spots which would be to 2nd. Any team can move up 4 at most or go down 1 or stay the same.

This is a proposed new way that the league wants to do the draft. If it happens, teams 1 through 5 currently slated would have chance at #1. Other teams in the lottery 6 through 15 all have a chance to move at most up 4 and down 1.

We have had success at drafting Swedish players in the past and we have done it in the past (ex: Karlsson, Zibanejad, and Alfredsson). So they wouldn't be against the concept. We shall see.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Howisbergevinstillhere</b></div><div>Kinda hope we get 4 so we can send the draft to hell. Make everyone scramble maybe. Is there a chance u guys can take Drysdale and let us get stutzle?</div></div>
I would not want the Sens to consider taking Drysdale for sure no matter what the other pick is (1 or 2). They already have Chabot, I strongly believe that Wolanin can be a stud (top 4), and we have brannstrom who will come up in a year or two and contribute not to mention we also have Bernard Docker and Thompson. So I wouldnt take Drysdale. If we get lucky and land number 1 and 3 and draft Lafreniere at 1, I would definitely be picking Stutzle (if byfield is gone at 2 which i think he will be). We need an elite center as Sens are starving for one. If we get number 2 and 3, I would want them to draft Byfield at 2. In that case, they would consider drafting between Stutzle and Raymond. In that case, I think that Sens may consider Raymond and let Stutzle to 4 for habs if they move up to 4. Thats the only case I see the Habs getting Stutzle at 4.

I sure hope so. And I do believe that Montreal will get better soon. Hopefully the draft this year will help them out too.
