OTT Accepts??
Without Tavares, I'm guessing NYI are part of Karlsson's no trade list. Otherwise, I'm guessing cheap Melnyk would take that deal

Bruins-CGY small trade
Calgary absolutely does not need another RD. They already have too many - Brodie (left shot but prefers the right side), Hamonic, Stone, Andersson.

This Is How The Lightning Will Get Karlsson
This is actually a really good idea in theory. Whether the Rangers would actually do it, I'm not sure, but using the potential 2019 1st as leverage is a solid maneuver.

Nylander Flip
I'm not sure if proposing Nylander for Martinez is worse, or signing him to a 3yr/$3M deal, or then trading him away to dump Dion Phaneuf. It's all so bad.

Karlsson trade with a twist (COL, TOR)
0% chance Colorado does that. At absolute best, Ottawa would get Barrie and their own 1st back.

A fair Panarin trade with Florida
Can't see Florida giving up significant assets for Panarin. They aren't a legit contender this year, but if they keep Huberdeau and Tippett, then add Panarin as a UFA, they would be.

Karlsson?
If Ottawa is expecting much <div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SDSUFRATMAN</b></div><div>No way that gets you Karlsson! Way off but a package for him (in my opinion) is like: Montour, Pettersson,Comtois, Jones or Steel, 2019 1st</div></div>
No team is going to pay that for one year of Karlsson. The deal offered here is pretty reasonable to get a prospect, a top 4 D, a 1st and a top 6 forward.

If They Get Tavares Yr 1
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DirtyDangles</b></div><div>Even a late 1st wouldn't do it IMO. If TB gets Tavares then they are probably front runners for the CUP. They would be desperate to offload money and every team in the league would know it which would garner an overpayment by TB to dump these guys. You also have to consider NTC and NMC's. Both Callahan and Coburn have 16 team trade lists. I doubt bottom feeders would be on those lists.</div></div>
That's definitely a fair point, but even a late first is still a good asset for two years worth of cap space that isn't going to be used anyway. I would think there would be one of the 16 teams that would take that deal.
If you couldn't move one of them this summer, you could move Killorn instead.

I left an extra $4M in space to allow for a bit higher numbers on those deals. On the Point one specifically, I think they really try to sell him on a bridge deal because that will keep the Cup window open for another few years. If he wants a long term deal at $7M-$8M per, it's probably not in Tampa.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DirtyDangles</b></div><div>I think it would take more than a 2nd to take on Callahan's contract!</div></div>
Yeah, I figured it might take a 1st, but even if it does, giving up a 1st for Tavares is a pretty solid deal IMO. I also thought Buffalo doesn't need the cap space in the next two years, and Callahan's work ethic is probably a good thing to have around all their kids.

Price trade idea !
This is a horrible overpayment for one of the worst contracts in the league. As good as Price has been in the past, if the Habs want someone to take him at $10.5M for 8 years, they won't get much back, far less the two guys who were literally just acquired to fill holes in the lineup.

Really don't like the idea of bringing in all of Russell, Boedker, Perron, and Nuge on contracts that run past when Tkachuk needs an extension. It's going to cause major problems for 2019-20.

3 way trade w/ TOR and CAR
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LoganOllivier</b></div><div>In all likelihood your trade would go through without a hitch. It would be tough for Kapanen to move up in the lineup. Especially if the Leafs land JT since Nylander, Marner and possibly Brown are all ahead of Kapanen on the depth chart. The lineups I've toyed with I put Kapanen up into the 3rd RW spot to play with Either Tavares or Kadri and Johnsson on the other side. Its just sick speed on the wings with a creative centre that gives matchup fits to other coaches.
But the more I read about Spurgeon the more I like him. Still think the Leafs need a guy like Chris Tanev a little more than Spurgeon but still I would not at all be disappointed if they get him.</div></div>
The challenge with a guy like Tanev is he's very much a defense first without a lot of puck moving ability. If the Leafs are going to have such a talented group of forwards, they'd be better off with a guy who can get the puck up to them quickly and jump in the rush as a 4th attacker better than Tanev does.

3 way trade w/ TOR and CAR
Not a fan of any of the three teams involved, so from an impartial bystander point of view, that looks like one of the most fair deals I've seen proposed on here. Everyone gets what they need while giving from an area of strength. Great idea.

Stone for Draisaitl (EDM Blockbuster)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sens4life</b></div><div>I disagree. Stone had more points last year per game and that is a fact. I personally think he is a better player overall IMO. I think one for one is fair value wise though.</div></div>
You're definitely entitled to your opinion on that, but I wouldn't trade a 22 year old centre already signed long term straight up for a 26 year old, RFA winger, even it the players themselves are similar skill level.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sens4life</b></div><div>No way. Stone has more points per game than Draisaitl and over all I would much rather have Stone than Draisaitl</div></div>
If you throw out Draisaitl's 18 YO season, when he shouldn't have been in the NHL, he has a higher PPG than Stone. Also, Draisaitl is 22 now, whereas Stone didn't even become a full time NHLer until he was 22.
I'm a Flames fan and like both players, but saying Stone is better than Draisaitl and EDM should add a pick to the deal is crazy.

Skinner has one year left on his contract and isn't going to bring back anything more than that. If they don't want to move him for that type of package, then they can keep him and let him walk as a UFA.

Probably have to add Jarry to the Skinner trade, but I'd be ok with that. Then try to sign a cheap UFA backup for a bit more goalie depth.

If Bolts want JT
I would think you could pay someone a 3rd or a B- prospect to take Coburn for a year, which would open up enough space to keep Johnson and really make a run at the Cup this season. Johnson and Killorn (and probably someone else) would probably still have to be moved after the season to make room for the Kucherov and Point extensions, but it's worth keeping it together as much as possible for this year IMO.
