Gives the Blues breathing room. Gives the Habs another backup goaltender.

The Leafs may have won this trade, and that’s great and all, but was it worth sacrificing their morals? Stealing from a senile old man... where does it end? Shame on Dubas and RIP Pit fans.

Huzzah, you are correct. Just not sure what constitutes a compliance buyout or an ordinary course buyout. Or the cap hit literature.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tsyls</b></div><div>That Matheson deal is super tricky, as a jets fan I’d love to have Matheson and for a 3rd + b prospect it’s not a bad price it’s just that his contract is a tough one to get on board with. Idk I think I’d take the gamble if he’d be able to play 2LD and tack on about 20 lbs lol</div></div>
u dont want Matheson trust me he aint good. Jets fans will hate him after 1 shift on the ice. Theres a reason he got benched after only 2 playoff games. He just isnt good with or without the puck.
Jets maybe could take a chance with him on the 3rd pairing but honestly they can do much better.
As for the leafs acquiring him pass. He is just gonna be another ceci.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>hoshii96</b></div><div>Makes sense, two back-to-back years of .896 save% is quite below starter level.</div></div>
Once the coaching change happened and they inserted Nabokov as goalie coach he improved dramatically
“Although Jones’ 2019-20 was terrible overall, he had flashes of the elite goalie he once was just a couple of years ago. After the Sharks made their coaching changes, Jones had impressive numbers.
From December 13th to March 13th, Jones started 14 games and posted a .912 SV%, 2.45 GAA, and recorded his two shutouts. Jones’ month of February was especially impressive, posting a .951 SV%, 1.40 GAA, and his two shutouts in five games.”
With the long layoff and plenty of Nabokov tutelage I hope he bounces back to the goalie he was!

Three-Round Ranking w/ Top-8 Mock Notes
I think with the sens, if Byfield falls to them at 3 they rather take 1 of Perfetti, Raymond or Holtz. If they get stutzle, I can see them still searching for a sure fire C, such as Rossi. I can’t see them taking drysdale because they already have 2 OFD in Chabot and Brannstrom, plus 2 RHD that were both picked in the first round. Only way I see them taking drysdale is if Pierre decides drysdale is the best possible player available. If they pick 2 F, likely they pick a D with the isles pick.

I don't know what the hell this is, but MTL takes that and runs. Tuch wasn't great this year, but to sell that low after just one season would be a very rash decision on VGK's part.

picks outside of first round
Mangiapane inside the first round but other then that great job! Yeah this is just ridicoulous. You're still getting solid top 6 forwards and top 4 defenceman within the first 17 picks. In any other draft, pretty much all of these guys would be locks to make it inside the first round of a redraft. I seriously think this was the best draft of all time. Even better than 2003 or 2005.

Bernier a waste of time.
Cap management hardly.
You call it 16m cap space gained I call it a boat load of dumped contracts by the Wings. Simpler to laugh & hang up. Eriksson/1st is a deal that’s out there already.
