<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mitch9412</b></div><div>Ya and hes a cheap and controllable player for them unlike Pesce. Bourgault is likely the best prospect you're going to get for a guy that is pricing himself out of that poverty franchise. Never said it was an exact deal, but like I said, its not as far off as you think it is. And certainly not "multiple firsts" like the guy above thinks. This isnt the NBA where they throw around 1st like theyre candy at the draft.

And Carolina wont even pay their own D-man 7 million so on what planet does it get green lit to offer sheet a guy for one year at 7 million...</div></div>

Shocking response..not sure how canes are a poverty franchise, since new ownership came in they’ve spent up to and over the cap with LTIR both from a cap and cash perspective. Fun narrative though!

I don’t really care what other canes fans comment in terms of value, I can only control what I think and say. Never said that pesce is worth multiple firsts and high end prospects or anything like that. That’s a far cry from what you’ve offered. If pesce doesn’t actually get extended (odds are that he will since the rumor was just Lebrun saying they’ll move him if he doesn’t extend, nothing about negotiations have soured and they’re moving him fyi) there will be plenty of teams interested and he’ll return a 23 first and a top prospect if it’s a futures type deal as the base. If you think that’s not the case you should look at prior examples over the last couple of years.

CAR won’t pay Pesce a long term deal bc he’ll be 30 when it kicks in and giving him an 8x7 is idiotic and not the way they do business. You say it’s bc they’re cheap but in reality it’s bc they stick to their valuation methodology. It would be cheap if they moved him for futures and didn’t spend that cap but that’s clearly not the case, so once again you’re wrong. OS a young D with a high ceiling is exactly the type of move they would do, again look at history.

What an idiotic take you had..
