I've personally never seen Soucy or Siegenthaler play RD, but won't pretend to watch all their games. As for Siegenthaler, I highly doubt NJ trades him right now.

Siegenthaler too important to NJ that I doubt they trade him. Also he hasn’t played RD at all this whole season to my knowledge (not that he can, just rarely does if at all).

Edmonton has skinner as the young goalie that needs to be on the team next year and smith is under contract for next year don’t see how or why holland would entertain this. Even if as a rental have kosk all three have been playing excellent lately.

jjkhaira is right here. Although, if Holland didn't make those comments, I'd still say its too much. I think the 1st is fair value, and maybe a B prospect like Kemp at the most.

Thats fair. I hope he changes his mind. McDavid and Drai deserve to win for once. Theyre too good to be held down by management refusing to make a splash at the deadline.

Agreed. No price trade happens before he comes back and proves to people that he can play. We won’t know until he’s back for sure but I think he can. Many goalies can still play very well in the late 30s. Lundqvist, Fleury and Rinne just to name a few recent ones

Ya, but plans can change. That’s just the presumption because it’s the obvious solution.
Does not mean it’s locked in. Adding a 1st for Ullmark would give Boston more ability to go after Chychrun.

Price is Right
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jjkhairaELTE99</b></div><div>Nada</div></div>
I found one. Derrick Brassard traded from Ottawa through Vegas to Pittsburgh. Vegas retained for 1/4 of a season = $462K in 17/18, and a full $2M in 18/19.
So, that was Vegas' first season (had plenty of cap) and they got Reaves + 4th for their troubles.
Still a long ways away from some team retaining for 4.5 seasons at likely $2M+.

Teams tight to the cap (that's over half the league) can't afford Price becuase A - he's expensive B - they need a solid (and probably well paid 1B).
Teams with plenty of cap are likely rebuilding and shouldn't spend assets on Price (as he wouldn't help when they are contending, and he wouldn't waive to go to those teams).
Doesn't leave a lot of options,

DO SOMETHING KENNY
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jjkhairaELTE99</b></div><div>I wouldn't bank on smith again as we are seeing the consequences of doing that this year. As for Konovalov, he needs time to adjust to the NA game. He could very well be an option down the line but the oilers need a certified #1 NOW and is worth moving money to make it possible to do so this year. Then with key pieces already in place and space coming the following yr, the complimentary spots can be easily handled. This team wont get anywhere with a skinner/smith tandem. Throwing the bank at either Campbell of Jarry (should he make it to the market) is the only way to secure a #1 goalie because we just done have one slated to be a #1 in the system</div></div>
Agreed, the Oilers are paying the price now for not playing around with the cap 2 years ago and grabbing Markstrom. He was willing to sign in Edmonton if Holland would've ponied up.

Probably have to pay more to get Campbell... Leafs will try their best to keep him and he'll likely sign cheaper for them than us. Remember, Calgary outbid for Markstrom ($6x6) where we were offering ($5x7). At the very least, Campbell gets a Markstrom contract... if he pulls out a Vezina and takes Toronto on a playoff run it will be more.

Jarry Offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jjkhairaELTE99</b></div><div>fairpoint. I just worry that we wont be able to afford a jack Campbell and get a top6 RW in FA. Jarry is a cost effective option that we need to look at cause kenny love keith kassian and barrier at their numbers</div></div>
But that is the exact reason Pittsburgh can't do that trade. We have only 4 forwards signed for next season. Our UFA and RFA list includes just about everyone other than Crosby, Guentzel, Blueger and McGinn. Letang Malkin Rust Rodrigues and Kapanen are going to cost us a pretty penny. I think they would rather keep Jarry and bring in a veteran back up, even though this return is good.
