Kane Rumor
With that retention and a cap dump I think the Hawks could get a 1st rounder tbh. I'm a Stars fan and would 100% do this deal but I think the Hawks could do better, unless they're really high on Stranges.
I also think they wouldn't have a problem taking on Faksa's contract. They're gonna be a rebuilding team for the duration of it and if it nets them more assets then why not? They'll have an insane amount of cap space going forward for a while. Gurianov would be much more attractive though for sure.

Which would cost a 3rd round pick at most more than likely. No reason for Dallas to include anything outside of Robertson and a small cap dump like that in this deal. Calgary would be lucky to get a 40+ goal scoring LW who did it without Gaudreau in return, and who is also younger.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>buchiegang</b></div><div>The point is that 1. There are bettter prospects who they can likely acquire for Hayes and Zuccarello (Vesalainen, Fabbro, Dubé, for starters) and 2. The whole other point of trading these guys is to clear cap and open spots for guys we have like Andersson Chytil and Kravtsov to get more ice time or have a spot on the team. They don’t want to take back players, who maybe good in their own right, who can/will be outproduced by our younger players immediately.</div></div>
Boy this aged well huh? Robertson & Hintz both ended up being far and away the best of any players mentioned.

Uh do you watch the Stars often? Better yet, do you watch the Sabres often? Jesus you really think Risto is better than Klingberg? My god that's one of the worst takes I've ever heard. Clearly coming from someone that's never seen Ristolainen play and doesn't appreciate the fact that we have one of the most talented and best offensive dmen in the league on a dirt cheap contract. Idk how anyone can watch the Stars and see Klingberg as the issue. That's just terrible. And on top of that we pay them even more. Jesus christ that's bad. You'd hate Ristolainen within a week. His defensive play is terrible, yes, even worse than Klingberg's and he is maybe half the player Klingberg is offensively. Just a terrible proposal

I re-signed Honka here so I could trade him. In the description j put to not pay attention to the Honka re-signing cause i only included it to trade him. Same with Janmark. Polak I re-signed as a 7th dman although I know he did say he's leaving for Europe after this year idk if his mind has changed though

Realistic Deadline Deals
The last thing Dallas needs is more 7th dmen. Benning is slightly better than Carrick and Honka but not better than anyone else on our defense. Especially not for a 2nd round pick

Nopeee definitely not moving Hintz. He's a top 6 player for us right now and playing like one too.
Also Jason Spezza recently said he would not accept a trade anywhere. Says he would turn down anything because he wants to remain here and close with his family.
Shattenkirk and Namestnikov both have ugly contracts too so this doesn't really make any sense for Dallas, although Namestnikov I'd have some interest in but not for this price

Then drop the 1st for Dzingel and put in a 2nd + another pick or prospect:)
If we're giving up a 1st rounder we better get someone that will have a major impact on this team. Dzingel alone won't do it

Absolutely no interest at all in Eaves. Pure cap dump at this point and way too risky to take. Maybe if they take Martin Hanzal and a late pick back

Opinions - Dallas offseason
Faksa imo holds more value than Namestnikov.
Also Alzner is terrible and there's no reason we should even get near that contract unless they're paying us to do so. I also don't see why we would re-sign Ritchie. He's not worth that amount even if he's making it right now. He needs to go.

Simple moves that help now and the future
Detroit is the team that has interest in Honka so they'd want him I'm sure. Doesn't make sense to pay a 1st for Nyquist either I'd rather give up a conditional pick or a prospect
Also I can't see Edmonton doing the Puljujarvi deal. Nichushkin is 23, i assume they'll want someone younger and with a more promising upside or someone that can help the team now

If the first is to much Ok.</div></div>
This deal is horrible and who are we clearing space for lol. Polak plays a key part of our defense and idk about you but I don't trust Honka or Carrick to take that role lol. Faksa is our best young trade piece and teams would give up quite a bit to get him. Nyquist is a rental, they won't get a 1st round pick for him even if they want it. If they do it's not for Nyquist alone unless he comes signed
