Hmmmmmmm
Why do people think Coyle is a cap dump and you have to pay to get rid of him? Is he overpaid? Maybe just a tad, but he had a good year last year. He kills penalties, has good puck possession and is great in his own end. He's over a 0.5 ppg player who plays with garbage line mates. With retention he would get a good asset back, the Bruins would not have to pay to get rid of him.

The idea is he would come with an extension.

Bergeron Retires - Tank
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>herzausstein</b></div><div>Considering the trade is 2024 trade deadline per the trade comment it’s hard to gauge the trade value. Marchand will likely still be good but who knows where L’Heureux will be in his development. But I don’t think a rebuilding team like Nashville would be interested in giving up a first plus one of their best prospects for a 35+ forward on the back end of his career. Nashville isn’t the right team.
Also of note, Nashville is giving up their 2023 1st at the 2024 trade deadline per the trade as it currently sits…. So not sure how this works . Either way Nashville should pass due to this being a big win no move when they aren’t that close to winning now</div></div>
Yea sorry meant 2023 deadline

If Bergeron retires I think the bruins should consider trading marchand. He would get a haul and the bruins next year will be in a rebuild.

Very fair comment. I was being lazy to be honest. but I figured maybe the $1.5 mill cap savings would at least help vegas a little

Games played has nothing to do with their issues. The bottom 6 forwards blow. In the next 6 games your season may be over. And marchand is gone for 2 more. Meanwjile Reilly, carlo, forbort give you nothing.

Stats are great. I use my eyes. The Defense has been bad. You cant win relying on marchand Pasta and 100 year old bergeron to do all the scoring. Goaltenders are inconsistent (dont even get me started on the ullmark contract).

The Hall, Krejci and Rask contracts are insanely high. No way the Bs are signing them to those numbers. And no way ritchie gets 3 years. hall is probably at 5.5 give or take 250k. I dont think DeBrusk is getting you a 2nd rd pick. I actually think reilly gets about double that money also. No thanks on that hotly trade. they can get a serviceable veteran for cheaper without giving up a 2nd.

Valuable? Kuraly has been terrible this year and they have 6 other guys just like him. Halak has been good, but he's a Mid 30s backup. the two young kids have looked capable. These trades dont make the bruins better or worse. As a fan, I'm fine with them.

Kreider Trade
The retention math here makes no sense to me. So boston moves $5mill out with backes gone but takes on $4.35 in smith (with another year)? that's a net savings of $700k. The bruins would just keep backes and by him out in the summer in that case.

I like the ideas, but why do we have package a 2nd with Heinen? Galchenyuk isn't exactly performing this year. I think for Kreider the Rangers would need the 2020 first rd pick.

Carlo is about as untouchable as they get for the Bs. If anything Toronto should add to that. Cant see the vegas trade happening, Kevan Miller probably wont play in the near future.

As a Bs fan, I can tell you right now the organization isn't doing that. The players, coaches and execs love krug and he's crucial to our PP. if anything Boston is looking to lock him up long term on a discount, not trade him for forward help. You could probably have Grzylyck (plus some) for Marchessault.

What "talent" is being traded away? And also, this team is soft. They need some guys to take on the physicality of the playoffs.
