I love Josh Norris but not at his contract. Isles can't take on more cap.

Would rather have Ritchie than another 1st, but it really doesn't matter. This is good for the Islanders.

Oh, I haven't seen those. In that case, I'd happily take it. But I also didn't realize in your trade we're giving up a 1st. That doesn't make sense.

All of these are realistic except Dallas. I wish they would do it, but I have a hard time thinking they'd trade Stankoven.

I don't know too much about how Brisson has done since being drafted, but he was a monster at Michigan (my brother went to Michigan and I went to Quinnipiac, so we watch college hockey when we can). His one-timer from his off-wing was deadly. I think he'd be a great prospect back in a trade for Brock.

Isles can't retain on Nelson if they're moving him.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>swissmontana</b></div><div>I would love Brock, but he's the Islander's leading goal scorer rn and they aren't rebuilding, and the cap is a real mess next season if landy comes back. and with each passing week, seems like he's coming back</div></div>
If Lou decides to retool (not rebuild), Nelson is the first to go since he has the most value. He'll likely go for picks/prospects, but those can be used in another deal for a retool.

RD and Goalie
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>yeah the real poison pill is the Isles would be taking back almost double the cap (sending about just about $7M with Pulock & Wahlstrom, taking back $12.975M with Chabot/Batherson.) I don't think they could even pull this off as a summer trade without having to dump cap elsewhere.</div></div>
We essentially have to move Nelson (good value), Palmieri (no value), and Pelech (probably unmoveable but that's fine). I think Lee could get bought out this off-season, which would save a nice amount.
Honestly, I would love to retool, but it'll be hard. If we do retool, this is the kind of trade I would welcome.'
Also, the amount of "Chabot Shalom" gear Isles fans would have would be amazing.

Who I would be scouting at the Leafs game today if I were Steve Staios
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>for what it's worth on your Isles targets:
-Holmstrom would have the highest price tag. He took some time to warm up but he seems to be developing into a solid everyday NHLer with some decent amount of cheap team control left. Isles have a ton of big contracts with term so a cheap guyw ho can hold his own is worth his weight in gold.
-Wahlstrom is probably gettable although management was talking about giving him more run - whether that's to showcase him for a trade or to try and finally get some offense out of him remains to be seen. I think the return for him is probably another "change of scenery" roster player - I would think something like Wahlstrom & old Sens friend Mike Reilly for Brannstrom would be a decent framework (including Reilly to make the cap basically even.)
-I like MacLean (first NHL goal tonight) but I don't know how much value he has. Probably a 4th liner at best so I don't know what the return would be if the Isles want to trade him - feels like an add-on more than anything. Maybe Wahlstrom & MacLean for Brannstrom + a mid-rounder works?</div></div>
This is a good assessment. Although, as crazy as this sounds, I'm not trading Mike Reilly. He's looked really good as an Islander. I'd rather just keep him than add him into a trade.
I don't hate the Wahlstrom and MacLean for Brannstrom and a mid-rounder idea, although I think we'd be better off just keeping them at that price.
And yeah, we're not moving Holmstrom.
