I stand corrected. Do we really think sens management thinks he’s in the window though? Maybe the second becomes a first. That package would be sufficient

broberg is a LD, but you’re right. depends on the intented direction of the team, but they may view it as a hockey deal, getting back a solid D man and another young NHL D

Dumba is a downgrade on ceci, and ceci isn’t good. Monahan is barely worth a 2nd rounder, no thank you. I also bet Montreal would be able to steal a first from a stupid GM(hopefully not Holland)

Kane will never be healthy again, has horrible analytics and is terrible defensively. If he was healthy I’d agree, but his hits have fallen off and he doesn’t intimidate the other side at all. He was a ghost against the knights. Best move on from him before the rest of the league realizes this

When you make trades as big as this, you’ll find they end up being capped out in the amount of assets you trade away. This is already a monster load of assets, though there’s nothing elite. It’s already looking like an OHL trade and it only involves a tandem goalie and a 3C

dude, GMs don’t want him. There’s been no credible rumours on interest in him since the blues cup. The blues are also probably missing the playoffs, so selling him WOULD be preferable if it’s an option

Hahahaha what??? Just say you don't watch hockey. It's a lot faster. FYI, Parayko is arguably playing his best hockey this season. Brett Kulak... holy crap, dude. Is Kulak playing the hardest minutes in the league?</div></div>
Is parayko? No. I’m not sure what blues fans see in him. I’ve seen probably 6/7 blues games, he never really stands out. Again he’s not a bad player, but the contract ruins him

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AC14</b></div><div>It makes 0 sense for the Blues to trade Parayko.
What are you offering back here?
1. a mid to late 1st
2. a project LD with a high draft pedigree - but troubling results early in his career.
3. a forward prospect who probably projects to be a middle 6er if everything shakes right.
We could stand to add a late 1st but don't need to.
Broberg is far from a valuable asset right now. He is a project. He has been mishandled by the Oilers front office and has had troubling results due to it.
Bourgault would probably be our 5th best forward prospect at the moment. Not an area of need especially when we have THomas and Kyrou locked up for 8 years.
What we would need to do if we traded Parayko is to fully redesign our defense that is littered with full NTCs that are being paid UFA money or close to it, and young guys who project as little more than bottom pairing players. That is an impossible task. So what it would do then afterwards is push us into a long-term rebuild versus what we're shooting for of a retool (Per our GM).
We aren't replacing Parayko for 6.5m a year any time soon, nor are we entering a full on rebuild any time soon. Thus why Parayko isn't available unless you offer a younger RD that can handle heavy minutes in a package.</div></div>
Dude, Parayko is not good. Would the oilers take him even if the blues added a first? I highly doubt it. Long, expensive contract for a player with a similar impact to Brett kulak

I wouldn't say this is really a selling move though. Sorokin can play 75% of the games... A team desperate for a goalie would totally pay a ton for Samsonov, who is way better than a backup. You're downgrading the backup goalie, taking on cap, and getting a ton of picks back which you could just turn around and use on a rental

Upgrade Ceci and Campbell
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AG_sweden</b></div><div>The price is too high to offload in my mind. Problem number two, how many goalies have gone from good to awful in the Oilers organisation? Not first time they invest in a goalie that they had to get rid off as soon as the Inc dried up on the new deal. It is unfortunate. And I don't really know why that keeps happening?</div></div>
I actually disagree, there hasn't been any good goalies that have come into the organization over the last decade and a half. Talbot is the only guy I can think of, and he still played really good here for 3 years, and only in the 4th and final year was he a negative asset. You look at all the goalies we've brought in the last 5 years or so -- Smith, Koskinen, Campbell, Montoya, Stolarz, they were all *meh* at best until they got here. Koskinen, Smith played better than they did before coming here. Campbell fell off a mental cliff, and Montoya and stolarz were never good to begin with. It's not like they bring in elite goalies and the defense sags them so bad that they get terrible.
