Fair Jones Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>deys3232</b></div><div>Not really, Ive watched a ton of Jones film recently to see what makes him look so good. Here are my obervations
-He allows everyone to enter the zone
-He is big and hits in corners
-He does not break up passes/allows everyone to make plays
-He is always scrambling in the D-Zone and happens to get a ton of blocks because he is always scrambling
-He has a great skater who is good in transition/bringing the puck up the ice
-He lets Werenski create offense. Hes very passive offensively, occasionally using his big shot to take a slapper set up by a team mate
-Chills at the blueline and looks like he is doing something</div></div>
Crazy how if you only look for the flaws in someones game they stand out. Jones is not perfect but he is also one of the least sheltered defenseman in the league. I guess it's jsut a fluke that the 34M line got shut out when matched up the entire game against the AHL caliber defensman Seth Jones

Why would Kings take bottom line players?
Boston is not giving up Fredric for Kerfoot just to get rid of Ritchie.

Ohh sh**t. U lost me on that crazy talk there. I was with u up until that crazy Toronto talk..lol. Best goal scorer in the league..ouch. I bet Ovi has something to say about that!! Deep down, be honest, u don’t really believe that now..do u?!

WSH is stacked on the left side. Orlov-Dillon-Siegenthaler-Fehervary at the NHL level now with Alexeyev and Nardella coming soon. Also, Niskanen is RHD.

Why would WSH give up on a talented, cost controlled scorer for a guy they dont have a spot for in their lineup. they already have their top 2 RWs in lock positions.

I know you said these will never happen, but I still have to address how awful that Vrana trade is. Caps are getting a depth forward and two mid round picks for an emerging 30 goal scorer. Yikes.

Let's try this in reverse - we'll send you Andre Burakovsky for Moritz Seider, Joe Veleno, and the 32nd this year

Mantha is an injury prone player, that’s who he is, a guy you can’t rely on even having 75% of a healthy season. He hasn’t had a 50 point season in his career..yikes
And you’re delusional with your trade, avs your logic is even worse, avs lost bc they had injured goalies,

No way are the caps trading McMichael for Dekeyser lol. The Capitals can just go to free agency and sign someone to fill that role for much cheaper than dekeyser and not trade anything. You're closing window argument is pretty weak. Dekeyser is the answer? No, no he's not
I could see Carolina liking Mantha but I think they would have to shed a contract in that trade as well. Maybe dzingel, bean and the 1st. Bean is a good get imo

Despite Dekeyser not being enough to get you McMichael, I can’t see Washington trading him honestly, he’s fantastic and him and Vrana are the future there as Ovie and Backstrom start to age out (they’ve mostly built up a solid defensive core of prospects so they can’t really afford to part with their high-end young forwards is my perspective as an outsider)

Kempny is good but they need to time for Siegs and Fehervary (2 top 4 guys now or very soon) so it makes sense to move him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dpellz90</b></div><div>Kuznetsov is not that good. He's terrible defensively.
While Domi is also bad defensively, he's not as bad as Kuznetsov, he's also better offensively than Kuznetsov.
Danault is straight-up better than Kuznetsov, no questions asked.
That and they lose Mete who's pretty good for Kempny who did not have a great year.</div></div>
Oh, how novel. A Pens fan insulting a Capitals player by making things up.
Kuznetsov has three 70+ point seasons and one 32 point playoffs. As a Penguins fan, you'll be happy to hear that the only active player with a better single season playoff points total is Malkin: <a href="http://www.nhl.com/stats/skaters?aggregate=0&reportType=season&seasonFrom=19171918&seasonTo=20192020&gameType=3&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,1&sort=points&page=0&pageSize=100" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">http://www.nhl.com/stats/skaters?aggregate=0&reportType=season&seasonFrom=19171918&seasonTo=20192020&gameType=3&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,1&sort=points&page=0&pageSize=100</a>
He shut down Crosby pretty well in the 2018 2nd round. To me, that's a good enough defensive center. He doesn't play as much PK as Danault, but Panik does, and can come close to Danault's point totals, if he plays 2R or 2L.

How is that anything other than an opinion. You literally said "in my opinion" on the Carlson take. Oshie is still on the 2nd line, so just untrue, Orlov's best season can be debated upon, maybe 17-18, maybe 19-20 but definitely not an outright fact. Many people think Carlson is the front runner. Backstrom is playing both 1st and 2nd line, since Kuznetsov usually works better with Ovi and WIlson, has nothing to do with Backstrom not being as good of a player.</div></div>
Facts > thoughtless opinions. No player on the caps is showing the type of decline that would lead you to believe they aren’t a playoffs team

Kempny is going to be bottom pairing next season because Siegs will replace him (maybe Dillon) and Fehervary will also be fighting for that spot. So we don't need him and AA is low risk high reward add.
