2022 Deadline
BOS
Sanford, Zachary ($1,000,000 retained)
OTT
Reilly, Mike
2022 4th round pick (BOS)
There’s no room for Reilly now
Ottawa has
Chabot, Holden, Brannstrom, and Sanderson on the left side
Zaitsev, Zub, Thomson, and JBD on the right side
If they trade Sanford, it’s likely for a pick, although they would probably prefer a 22/23 year old prospect that at least had a chance of NHL games next season.

I know but there’s 0 chance they’re getting Greig and a top 10 pick

We should not be moving any prospects named Pinto, Greig, Sanderson, Thomson, Sogard or 2022 1st if it’s top 8. Everyone else is fair game.
As for core players,
Tkachuk, Norris, Batherson, Formenton, Stutzle, Chabot, Zub.
Those guys should not be moved

Two dumps for Ottawa's grit AND a 3rd, yeah that's realistic, lol</div></div>
A bit unfair to OP
Money OUT for 2022-23 : 6.0
Money IN for 2022-23 : 7.3
Money OUT for 2023-24 : 6.0
Money IN for 2022-23 : 0.0 (2 roster spots to fill)
This is to get rid of Zaitsev's last contract year.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>InTreWeTrust</b></div><div>So the equivalent of 2 1sts and a 2nd for Brown - and I thought the Habs fans were delusional on this site</div></div>
The 2nd is for Paul but a 1st and a prospect is delusional for Brown? He scored at over a 50 point pace last year and is scoring at almost a 60 point pace this year. Plays pp and is one of the best pkers in the league. Trading him at 50% retention with two years left leaves him with the exact same situation that Blake Coleman was traded under. Both with an extra year left on their deals at 1.8m against the cap. Coleman went for a 1st round prospect from the year before the trade (Foote) and a 1st. I'd argue that Brown is better than Coleman so why should the ask be any less?

Kakko
Return is probably a little high for Sanford and Gaudette.
But also is Kakko really worth your 10th overall pick from last year, a late 2nd, a guy probably worth a late 2nd or 3rd and you’re second best LD prospect? I genuinely don’t think so. If you’re low on Brannstrom then you’d have to be low on Kakko as well. I really like him and I think he’ll have a great career once he figures it out but 2nd overall, three years in the league and he still hasn’t really broken through.
Would much rather put those assets towards someone else.

My lineups part 21
What Dorion said is widely misinterpreted. When he said the rebuild is over, he meant were not doing things that rebuilding teams do anymore like selling veterans, acquiring draft picks, and trying to get a top 5 pick. They've already been through that and now the pieces are in place. There won't be a lot of turnover on their current roster, the players they have now are just expected to improve as we go along and hopefully their record follows. Are playoffs expected? No. Is playoffs the goal? Absolutely. No rebuilding teams goes into the year trying to make the playoffs.

Ottawa has Chabot, Brannstrom (LD/RD), Mete, Holden, and Del Zotto as NHL ready left handed defencemen. We def aren't adding another especially when Jake Sanderson will make the jump at the end of the season.

Give Brown a real shot
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>yikes</b></div><div>I dont think Brown deserves 2C time especially sending down Pinto (which is a bad idea imo). Pinto earned a fair shake in the NHL with his play last season. Brown at most should be given 3C which is what I think they should do or just trade him.</div></div>
Training camp decides those things
It's up to Logan Brown. He has to show he really wants it then figure out how to stay healthy. I don't think he'll be with the Sens long term as he's not their "type" of players (which has changed since the rebuild) but as a Sens fan I hope they will put him in a position to succeed and rebuild his trade value.
Pinto isn't going anywhere, he's still just 20 y/o and if he plays a stretch in the AHL that won't hurt him (although I think he doesn't really need it), but if Brown shows he's committed and has worked his butt off, I'm giving him the 2 most skilled wingers so he can play is high difficulty passing game.

If White doesn't play well enough, move Connor Brown in his place.

You seem triggered, you must like Gustavsson. Relax, take deep breath’s, this trade didn’t occur, it’s just a conversation. Now, prepare yourself for the possibility that Gustavsson isn’t as good as you think he is. Yes he’s a decent goalie prospect, but he’s no Sogaard.

As a Nashville fan, I'd probably do that after the expansion draft. The cap hit for the 1st two years is a little more for us but it drops off for the last 2 seasons where it's just Colin White. Worth a roll of the dice for us if you ask me
