Description
Duchene agrees to a 7x7.

Necas starts as 3C and then when he is sent down Charlotte Strome takes over. Also at that time Maenalenan comes up to be the RW3.

Idk if Ottawa would want to let him go for only that, Im sure theyd push for Necas/Bean/Zykov and get rejected. I could see it being Fleury and Gauthier/Roy

Holy overpayment by the Canes. You know Duchene is an upcoming UFA, and that pick is likely a lottery pick.

Carolina is going to make the playoffs. Their defense is ridiculous and if they trade Faulk for a centre, they could be elite. Also, Rask is overpaid for the stats he got last year, idk if hes good enough for a 3C role. So I think its a very fair deal for a rental especially of Duchene's calibre. B prospect + 1st. Eberle should get the same

You are not getting Edmonton's 1st. Strome for Faulk is probably pretty fair, but the 1st isn't on the table.

Strome is trash. Faulk is a great defenseman. while I agree that the first is probably off the table in absolutely no situation is Strome enough to get Faulk.

just cause Edmonton made a terrible trade of eberle for strome doesn't mean another team is going to compensate Edmonton by super overpaying for strome.

I agree the canes are likely a playoff team with that insane D (Canes fan shockingly agrees I know). Rask is a 3rd line C and he had a down year. His stats in prior years back me up. That duchene deal is an overpayment, unless it omes with an extension. Especially since Duchene is reportedly a locker room cancer, and with the addition of Hamilton already, I'd only have the one this year please

Strome was a failure in Long Island, And is proving to be a failure in Edmonton as well. No way you're getting Faulk for Strome+1st hearing that Carolina wants center depth for Faulk.

I agree. I'm not sure you will get strome, who by all standards is a pretty decent 3rd line Center(34 Pts playing limited offensive minutes and very limited PP minutes), and then a 2019 1st. I think Strome and maybe a D Prospect is where the deal should be. Maybe Bear or Caleb Jones.

Carolina is not making the playoffs. iffy goaltending and a very weak forward roster outside of their top line. defense is strong but defense doesn't win games. Calgary on paper had one of the strongest defensive lines in the league last year and look where that got them.

New Jersey, Pittsburgh, Washington, Columbus and Philly are all better than them in their division so there's no way they make the playoffs

Honestly I would do that for the sens. Especially if he's not indicating resigning with them, which I hope he does, but if he will accept the contract from the canes then I say do it. They might want a defenseman rather than Gauthier but it helps both the ams I think.

I think you are really overvaluing Faulk .... he's a good offensive D good for 30-40 points but also a -20 plus/minus for the last 4 seasons so NOT good on the defensive side ... I know that EDM needs D but Faulk is not what they are looking for .... but if it were Strome for Faulk the Oilers would be sending a 3rd round pick over ... the 1st is not going.

While i agree that Strome hasn't lived up to a 1st rd pick expectation...saying he is trash is a very bad analysis. He was a solid 3rd line centre last year in the upper echelon on points. Helped turn around the Oil PK in the second half of the season. I would love to know your reasoning...

Also Faulk IMO is a third pairing guy at best. Bad work ethic, one dimensional player. From what i read too is that hes not very commited and out of shape most of the time.

So Faulf for Strome....no probably not due to him being a RHD. But toss in a mid draft pick is all he is worth.

When you look at who Strome's most common wingers were last year, his production doesn't look half bad. Four of his top 9 wingers by TOI aren't even in the league anymore.

Thats exactly it...who was he playing with. He didnt play with Connor or Nuge or Drai.

People slam the Oil for the wrong things. I always thought Larkinisking was fairly knowledgeable with other teams. Maybe he should stick with just Detroit threads. Haha
