Going to be interesting to see how the Leafs are able to hold up at the centre ice position without Matthews. Tavares and Kadri and who? plays the other 20 minutes. Now you know why the Leafs had no interest in trading Kadri. Teams need at least three good offensive centres.

Yea, Goat has been good. Actually that fourth line with Lindholm playing LW has been fine. Now it's the reshuffling of the lines. Getting Johnson in and playing well at LW, and having Lindholm at centre with bigger minutes.
Leafs have been fortunate in the past two years with few injuries to their forwards. And now two big subtractions, Matthews and Nylander.
Maybe Sammy gets his wish and Gardiner to play LW or centre

Leafs are still a top team without Matthews. They did this last year too, but without TAVARES. Its going to be a long damn month, but when we come out of it with a winning record and add both Matthews and Nylander(or his trade equivalent) is added, its going to be very exciting!

Awkward though, hit him under the arm and moved up. That's a weird angle. Although I think Matthews should get more flexible in his upper body, prevent this from happening again.

I would hardly call it a solid hit. I'm just being honest. If he would have went flying OK, knocked to the ground, yup I agree. But he didn't even hit him hard enough to knock him off his skates. He really didn't hit him all that hard.
