Why on earth does Nashville do this in your mind?

They really underperformed this year. Perhaps they need a change up of personnel.

Josi is quietly one of the best defenseman in the game. I think it costs more than 1 prospect, 1 middle 6 forward and an ok offensive defenseman for a bonafied number 1 defenseman. But it doesn't really matter anyway because there's no chance Nashville trades Josi.

Tolvanen is also their best prospect and its just ridiculous to think that this is a fair trade.

What about that Dante Fabbro kid? Tolvanen is equal value to Beaudin.

Saad plus Gus has to be close to Josi

Don't see Nashville even considering this idea.

Josi is worth more than that package alone and Tolvanen is one of the best prospects outside the NHL. Saad is over paid, $6M should be able to put up at least 60 points, Saad never has. At most he should be making $4.5M. Gustafsson was a one year wonder, no telling how good he'll be next season and he's a complete liability in his own end. Beaudin is a good piece, but he's just a prospect. Not seen as one of the elite defensive prospects which is what it would take to get Josi to even start.

Josi >>> Gustafsson
Tolvanen > Beaudin
3rd is about equal to Saad, Chicago would probably have to retain on Saad to get the value back though.

Ferland also signs for more than $4.1M. Expect him to get over $5M, similar to a Tom Wilson contract.

This post needs a lot of work.

No way Nashville does this. Saad does not have the point production to match his 6 mil deal while Gus is suspect on defense. I think a fair trade would be

Gus, Saad, Beaudin for Ekholm, Tolvanen, 3rd

Unfortunately Saad and gus wouldn't be close to Josi for me. Saad has under performed since joining Chicago and there's no reason to think that changes. Tolvanen has played pro for the khl and one year of AHL. Beaudin is still in junior so I'm more confident in Tolvanen becoming a playing and would hold more value to me. So yeah I'd say the trade is pretty lop sided

Due to contract considerations, this is just as bad as the original proposal. I’d take ekholm and his contract over Gus + saad

How did Saad underperform last year....please explain and if your explanation is goals and assists then you don't understand who or what Saad brings to the table. Saad is very much like Ferland only better then Ferland. Whether you think that is worth $6m per year is subjective.

$6M player with a career high in points of 53 points, and is coming off of 35 point and 47 point seasons in his last 2 years? ... that doesn't scream a ton of value. He's an overpaid third liner, realistically he should be making $4.5M at most. Teams won't give up much for players that aren't producing and are overpaid.

That's exactly what I assumed is you are judging Saad on points. He's a 200 ft defensive forward...you don't judge wingers like that purely on points...you obviously haven't watched him play much. He's also on the 3rd line because the 3rd line was weak and the Hawks don't have the defensive depth up front.

Lol.. after looking through some of your comment history, you seemed to have bashed William Nylander this year for not putting up points and say he isn't worth the extra $900K more than Saad because of it. You seem to be acting like a bias hypocrite. Like you're saying it's okay for Saad not to produce points, but when it comes to Nylander he has to produce points to justify his contract. Lol some people these days..

JOsi is a top3 D-man in the NHL. If they move anyone it is Subban or possibly Ellis who was awful in these playoffs.
