Massive overpay by the Leafs for a number four defensman. Hard pass!!!

PS... In Advance.... Save it Sabres fans! That is a higher acquisition cost than it took to acquire him from the Ducks. He is a decent player but, he isn't that good.

Correct they do, reality is he's a 30 pt Dman 40 pt on the high end , he's also an RFA so going forward would cost a minimum 4 million per which is fine for what he brings but by no means is he a game breaker player - Johansson or Kapenen and a 3rd is what his value would be

I have to agree on some level here. If Montour was that good, why move him for Guhle? Anybody look at that Ducks blueline? It's not putting the fear of God into me at all.

Montour is a 3/4 D. Although, since the Leafs don't have one of those on the right side moving forward, it's something to entertain.

Sabres have decision to make on the back end, so moving Montour isn't beyond the realm of possibilites - and since the defensive UFA market is very strong, his price tag will be driven down.

Not really, at least not all. It just doesnt make sense to move Montour. Especially moving him for futures

They dont really have to make a decision on the back end currently, they just need to dump Bogo who is a pending RFA anyway

Risto, Montour, Miller, McCabe, Pilut, Jokiharju and definitely not least..... Dahlen.

Still heavy on the right side, and Pilut should make the team next year as the #6...... so yes, I suggest a decision or two there absolutely.

Its close to what we paid for him, a very late first and and A- prospect. Johnsson has had more success in the nhl than guhle has, but its in the ballpark. I think its extremely unlikely because our gm just traded for montour, he cant afford to trade him for futures, and we already have skinner and olofsson on the left side and reinhart plus nobody on the right. Honestly, the value is fine, the timing and fit dont work for the sabres.
