Personally I don't think these trades make the leafs better. Not unless Dermott and Johnsson have locker room issues...

This fan drivin hate of at least one player a year is comical. His cap hit aside he has preformed well and has earned his role in the lineup. For me Morgan Rielly was underwhelming all year. Then i was informed of his injury he had all season and it made alot of sense. Everyone is in love with Travis Dermott who i see some potential in. However he hasnt done anything to prove he is anymore then a 5 or 6 defenceman in the league. He skates well but inefficiently at times. There isnt a whole lot that is smooth about his game. My point of all this is its Dermott that may find himself in the press box when Rielly returns not Ceci. Sandin has outplayed Dermott for that left spot next to Ceci.

Hes such a weird player. Once hes off the 3rd pair I dont like him but if hes making 2 million this year no one has a problem with him. Hes had fine results on the pk, I dont like him on there because he cant prevent a cross seam pass but so far hes been good. Hes definitely not perfect and there are better guys but it isnt the end of the world if hes in the lineup unless hes blocking guys like sandin and dermott from playing. It's the cap hit that people hate about him

God I cant stand jim hughson. Remember that game vs Dt Louis where dermott got in a fight and the leafs killed then 5-2 and all Hughson did was talk about how they needed a better backup to be a true contender. That pissed me off so much, it makes me want romanuk back

Trades to make us better for the playoffsWATCH THREAD. OK I'm waiting to see the trades. Leafs trade three regulars, including two Dmen, and get just regulars in return and on Dman. This makes the Leafs worse.

Maybe it's just me, I really don't hear the announcers at all. If I'm watching the game, I'll just watch the game and tune out the the play and play.. Most of the "analysts" have worn out their welcome and have nothing new to say. They should be rotated monthly.

I feel the same way. It’s background almost white noise of Bob Cole doing the play by play I miss.

Sharks aren’t giving you Dahlen. He’s clearly superior to Bracco

50% of me wants to see a Ceci shipped out as a cap dump and Larsson brought in at a premium just to see Larsson become tnext seasons version of Ceci and get shipped out as a cap dump and Ceci brought back at premium just to shut all this nonsense up

Why would that mean the sharks trade a prospect for a worse prospect?

People think Bracco sucks because he hasn't been given a chance but just ignore who he has infront of him. He doesn't kill penalties and is a PP specialist on a franchise with Nylander, Marner and Kapanen ahead of him, given a chance he could be a good player.

I get what you're saying, but I think you need to pump the brakes a little bit on Dermott. Generally, most d-men need 300 games to know what they are and dermy is only at 139, so he hasn't even hit the halfway point yet. This isn't to say we don't have a general idea of what kind of player he is, just that he's still young and growing and with that comes growing pains and learning experiences. I'm fine with moving him out especially if we can find a partner for Rielly but a lot of people on here seem to think he's a finished product which couldn't be farther from the truth.

Ok then tell me why you want Dahlen? He also is a forward, is purely offense and a PP specialist.

I never said anything about trading him. I said he may find himself in the press box. I also said i see potential in him. I could see Dermott becoming a top 4. My point was he has done nothing during this entry level contract to convince any hockey person that he is more then a 5th or 6th so far. That could change in a week, month ,year , two years. At this point Sandin has outplayed him for that final left side spot. However that could also change in a day ,week, month,

I don't, not at all. I just hope Bracco gets a shot somewhere. It won't be in TO there just is too many better players ahead of him

You're right you never said anything about trading him, I did, I was trying to make a point that I'm not trying to overrate him just that he's not a finished product yet. And I realize that he seems like the odd man out especially if we re-sign Muzzin which is part of the reason I said I'm fine with trading him.

Everything you're saying is correct, I didn't saying that you said that just that a large portion of leaf fans seem to think that which is why I was urging people to temper their expectations in the off-season when they were claiming he could play with Rielly.

My point was Dahlen is a better player and would also not have a spot on TOR so why would we do that

The Leafs might better next year with a LHD of Reilly, Sandin and Dermot and no Muzzin. Holl, Liljegren and that Muzzin money spend on a RHD (somehow).

Dahlen and Bracco are literally the exact player, both 22 both 2nd rnd draft picks (dahlen went 10 picks ahead of Bracco) Bracco has better numbers in the AHL than Dahlen. I think the point of the trade was to show how you are overvaluing Dahlen when he essentially has the exact same value as Bracco
