He’s got better numbers then smith and not far off koskinen and he’s on one of the worst teams in the league. He had a terrible very very bad year last year. His only bad year. That is not this year. He had a slow first month, granted Kings as a team were running all over the place leaving guys wide open. after that he’s been great. He has not been an issue for the kings anyone that says he is doesn’t watch kings games. Now his contract and term might be an issue why no one would trade for him but his play is not.

Just because he MIGHT be better than their goalies doesn’t mean they should trade for him. That contract isn’t great, and the Oilers aren’t exactly swimming in cap space.

Yah and how will he be 3 years from now? Another 6 million on goaltending brings it up to 11 million. No thanks

That’s why I said his contract might be an issue but his play is not. Said that because I’m tired of people saying he sucks. Just not the case. He had a bad year last year but find a goalie who hasn’t had a bad year at some point. Oilers are already stuck with that ridiculous koskinen contract. At least quick got his based on results. If I was their gm I wouldn’t be going after quick. Because you can’t have that kinda money locked up in goalies

Don't get so excited you have to change into dry pants. Kings would never trade Quick inside the division.

As for whether Quick or Koskinen is "better," suppose Carolina had traded at the deadline for (a) Quick, or (b) Koskinen. Which one would everyone agree would make the Hurricanes a stronger Cup contender?

Really? Because he is the main reason the Kings were shutting down playoff teams 7 games in a row.... Do you watch him? Nevermind, I already know the answer to that.

Kings aren't trading him period, he is worth more than any team could offer to the Kings and Cal Petersen.

I'm just saying you guys sound stupid for saying he is garbage and what not when you clearly haven't seen how well he has done goaltending for recently the 2nd worst team in the league. Put him on a playoff team and your opinions change immediately.

The one that has 2 Stanley Cups, 1 Conn Smythe, and still plays excellent.

He'll be the best backup in the league while mentoring Cal Petersen the future starter. You know, the things that make him too valuable to trade.

You sound stupid because advanced stats don't tell the whole story. Watch a few Kings games sometime and you'll sound less ****. Quick has been great all season long except for his 1st month. On the 2nd worse team in the league. Nevermind how he played on the Kings 7 game winning streak that only ended because of the season being suspended.

Is Craig Anderson a bad goaltender?

What do your advanced stats say about Derek Forbort? Just curious.

6 million dollar backup, no thanks, i would rather spend that money on a first line winger. Thats just me though.

5.8M actually. And until the season was suspended he has been playing like a 6 million dollar goalie so... The Kings are going to be below the cap next season as it stands so won't be in cap trouble for the next 3 seasons anyway so paying that much for a future backup isn't an issue for the Kings.

Something all you outsiders don't understand is he has been playing like a 5.8M goalie, He'll be fine next season, and the year after we are happy keeping him as a great backup and mentor to Cal Petersen.

I do admit they don't always tell it, but neither does the eye test. Like the fact fans of the same team have differing views on the same player they watch is proof that it isn't objective. I think Anderson isn't good this year, via adv. stats. I think Forbort is said to be a good bottom pairing guy, by adv. stats. Yet, adv. stats do say that Quick was a very excellent goalie (like Vezina worthy) in 17-18, and was great all years before the 18-19 season and after. I guess Quick wouldn't be too bad of an option to trade for, if one found reason to suspect a bounce back.

There wouldn't be a bounce back lol, he has been playing great almost all season. Put him on a playoff team or even a team that just has better defense and you'd see how good he still is.

I don't think he's god awful, and he probably has improved improved over the season. It's just the cap hit/term and randomness of goalie play would probably deter me from trading him, personally.

Quick has been poor for the past 2 seasons at least. Of 51 goalies to play over 2500 minutes, he's

50th in GSAA
50th in GSAA/60
46th in GAA
49th in Sv%
41st in HD Sv%
45th in HDGSAA
45th in Avg goal distance despite being 23rd in Avg shot distance
9th in Shots Against/60 and 15th in total TOI, so it's not like he's being overworked or facing a lot of rubber.

He's 34 with 3 more years left at $5.8M. Despite his BF's best efforts, the Kings would have to pay someone to take that contract.
