The ottawa trade has potential as the leafs can trade kerfoot and brown can become the leafs 3c. The anaheim trade sure, get a cheap 4th line wing from it, as for the carolina trade. Its possible, but I believe u need to trade kapenan at the winter deadline for a team to give a 1st for him.

We'e not giving up the 36th overall pick plus a valuable fourth-liner for Andreas Johnsson. We need RhD's, not another middle-6 left-handed forward.

To be honest, I don't think that we would give you that fourth for him, he's that surplus to our needs. Rakell, Heinen, Milano, Jones, Comtois, with Tracey and others coming up -- I don't think we have the slightest interest in another LW.

Can't see Ottawa accepting. Mgmt is high on Brown and they don't have a need for an LD, they need RD

"Two 11M centres forces you to trade your mid tier players and get close to league min. players." That certainly isn't true. You've traded about of mid to lower end cap hits because he made another UFA signing of 7m Pietrangelo. Just don't sign Pietangelo and the there is cap room

It isn't like the Leafs are unique by having two players making big money. 22.6m. Sabres have Skinner and Eichel at 19m. Rangers Lundqvist and Panarin at 20m. Kane and Toews 21m. Kopitar and Doughty 21m. Burns and Karlsson 19.5m. Benn and Sequin 19.75m. Yea I think the Leafs overpaid for their three of their RFAs, but other teams did the same thing.

That CAR trade is a joke right? You want a good RD prospect and a 1st for a middle six winger? Are you nuts? Thats like Carolina asking for a 1st and a great prospect for Warren Foegele, it's just ludicrous. Carolina may have an interest in Kapanen, but at that price? No thanks
