Nope, we don't need Dermott for the 900th time. He is dead weight in a defense that has a logjam. We sure as **** aren't trading Nylander for Johnsson. Engvall isn't needed as we have plenty of bottom 6 guys and he really isn't a huge upgrade over what we have although I do like him.

Why not moving Kap for Nylander plus something? Alternatively, Nylander for Johnsson + Engvall? I just don't know who those two replace.

CHI fan here. I'm not the biggest nylander fan, but I'll admit that I was very impressed with Joki so... anyway. I don't think it'll happen because Stan would likely get fired. He just traded for him and gave up a lot. technically he was a rookie last year so I think they'll give him another year at least. His extension shouldn't be that much money anyway. He was effective in a bottom 6 role. As for the value. It's not bad value at all. The Hawks can't really take Dermott due to their log jam at defense.

Cernak at 2.25 a year?? TB has him sign that contract immediately, buys out Gourde and signs Cirelli. Makes a side deal for Detroit, Yzerman's new team, to take Johnson on waivers and signs Sergachev...

If CBO's happen this year it's a get out of jail free card for Tampa. There would be no reason to give up Cernak so cheap.

Johnsson and Engvall is a bit more interesting. I've bee very clear I would never take Johnsson for Nylander on here in multiple Leaf proposals...no way. Adding Engvall makes it a bit more interesting though.

I rather swap out dermott for a pick but I wouldn't hate this deal. I'm not big on nylander. Johnsson scares me because we already have a bunch of injury prone players on the team. I wouldn't decline the deal but I would call around to other GMs before accepting it

So is it a fair trade or is it not?? If not that's ok, just an idea I saw that I tried with my own twist on it.

CBO gourde, trade Killorn for a better return keep Cernak, Cirelli and Sergachev.
Or cbo Gourde and trade cernak for a better return than this and keep Killorn.

Killorn has a NTC, so it's very unlikely he will be traded. keeping Cernak, Cirelli and Sergachev with a flat cap will be almost impossible, especially with Johnson, McDonagh, Killorn and Palat still on the team, all with NTC's.

Killorn has a Modified NTC. Has to name 10 teams. Not ideal but would still net a better return than throwing away Cernak for nothing.
