This might be his worth but there isn't 1 team in the league that would give up that many pieces for eichel

What's your definition of A+ like Zegras or Turcotte, or like a Dellandria or smth

So basically 2 roster players winger Dman+3 prospects Center, winger and Dman and 3 1st round picks. No way in hell would any GM give up that much for Jack Eichel. I like Eichel but no sane GM would ever give up that much for him.

I would prefer more players than picks, because if there are many picks and raw prospects, then this is another five years without a playoff.

if you move Eichel you won't be in the playoffs for a while regardless of what comes back

2 things-

1st- no team is giving up that much to get a player. Adding him hurts a team more then it helps them less it’s a team that can also afford to keep their superstar too put around him.

2nd- Buffalo would be 100% stupid to trade him. Granted the Buffalo GM is that dumb.

1st - Yeah I know that. A lot of people have been making offers so I decided to try.
2nd - Indeed.

Perhaps, although depending from what will be the return. Let me remind you that for almost ten years now the team has not reached the playoffs and there are fewer people in the stands, if the team does not get into the playoffs again and Jack asks for trade, this will be a serious problem for owners who seem like complete idiots.

30 teams will offer and inquire, but There are only a few teams in the leagues in my opinion who would be able to trade for Eichel and have the pieces, and the preference I’m sure would be to trade him out west.

It would realistically cost a young centerman, with top line potential, a second young center with middle six upside, a top six forward on the roster , and couple first round picks.

I personally see LA (Villardi, Turcotte, and the #4 pick as potential assets to be moved, Anaheim with their first rounder in 2020 and (Steel, Zegras as potential assets) and NJ with Hughes, Hichier and a top 7 pick in 2020 who also has secondary guys like Zacha and McCloed who could he apart of a package. Vancouver could also make it work if it was a Pettersson-Eichel swap as an idea, however, In order for that to make sense, you’d have to believe Eichel is significantly better than Pettersson, and buffalo would need to probably take back significant for the canucks. Detroit and Ottawa could probably make something work, but both teams are In the division .

The preference though would be to send him out west.

Having said that, Eichel is not moving unless he requests it, but we are getting close so it is worth talking about

If it gets to a point where Jack Eichel requests a trade, then I seriously doubt Jason Botterill is the one making that trade, and buffalo would likely fire Botterill.

At that cost, no one in the league is worth that. You'd literally gut an entire team and then be stuck in the exact same position that Buffalo is in right now having nothing to surround him with. no individual player can win a cup in the NHL, so gutting everything of value in a franchise is pointless for one guy who's never made the playoffs, regardless of him being a top 10 center.

So to state the obvious, not all firsts are equal. The sabres got hosed pretty good a few years ago by taking a first from san jose (29th) and st louis (31). The san jose pick plus guhle brought back montour, he hasnt been a great player by any stretch for us. The 31st pick was used to take ryan johnson, a college d who i have seen drop to as low as 50th in redrafts. So the later the pick, obviously the lower the value. Plus the variability in draft class, like this years is supposed to be better than next years, ive heard by a decent margin. I guess my point is, if we are gonna trade a 23 year old franchise center who is under contract for 6 years for magic beans, the magic beans better be pretty good. And our scouting/development staff sucks pretty hard too.
