I’d pass for oilers. Not sure I’d do neal straight up. Since it’s adding a year tern.

Please no to that EDM trade. AA isn’t good and you gave him more than Silf makes plus took on Neal. Took on 5M, gave up the best player in the deal and only got a 3rd.

Athanasiou at $5.4M for term?! Do you have any more job openings there in Anaheim?

LFMAO!!! Good one. You're clearly clueless when it comes to ANA and its players. 2-for-2 on nonsensical comments recently.

I know, right? Silf getting treated like a cap dump, even though he's one of the few players performing on a crappy team. James Neal's contract is awful. AA is streaky at best. EZ pass.

Take out Kaut and it's fair. However, I'd hold onto Rakell and move him for more to a team struggling to get under cap.

That is a LOT for Rakell

No no no no no no no x 99999999909999 to that EDM trade, AA is horrible, Neal is gonna cost a 1st++ to move, you're getting the value of like a third and fourth, and also giving up Silf...

laugh laugh Grossly overpaying Andreas Athanasiou? And Anaheim isn't getting the #1 overall pick just look at the odds on Tanknation they will slip 2 spots before climbing 4 spots.

No chance COL does that. And with the covid/flat cap situation I don't think they would do 1st + Timmins for Rakell either. COL can get other similar players for much cheaper form teams like Tampa who will be desperate to clear cap. Not many teams will
1. Be able to take on Killorn/Palat
2. Want to take on a player with a ~5M cap hit
3. Not be on Killorns no trade list or be able to get Palat to waive his NTC

There are much better options out there for COL than to overpay for Rakell

I agree, rackell would be a nice add but no way are they getting quantity and quality for him since he has 2 years left on his contract.
If Avs are putting Kaut Timmins and a 1st in a package, its going to be for a much higher tier player than Rackell

Well, my dear departed mother always said, Aim high except when you're standing over a toilet.

We'll be quite happy to add a 2021 third or 2020 fourth for the 2020 first and Timmins. Even asking to include Kaut is embarrassing.

The issue in the real world is whether the Rakell-for-Timmins-and-the-first is still a viable framework. I'd be happy to add a mid-range draft pick. (See prior comment.)

Agreed. Reinhart is more like it for that package, but then you start running into cap problems in 2021 when you need cash to re-up Landeskog and Makar.

Kaut as a bottom or middle 6 forward on an ELC for the next 3 years is very valuable.

Timmins on an ELC for another year, and then likely signed to a cheap bridge deal as a top 4 RHD, is very valuable.

A 1st in a draft that has 27 "A" grade prospects (according to HockeyProspects.com) probably turns into a player helping the team on an ELC from 2022-2025.

Needless to say we're not going to trade a package featuring 2-3 of those assets for a player with 2 year term. You can add as many mid-round picks as you like, but that doesn't change anything from Colorado's perspective.

I had already conceded that 3 was out of the question and, in fact, 2 if the second element was Kaut. The question remaining is whether Rakell-for-Timmins-and-the-first is still possible, Apparently, it isn't.

Thanks for clarifying.

Timmins + 1st for Rakell would only be on the table if we sign Pietrangelo, imo.

In that case I'd even be inclined to add another decent pick/B prospect on top of Timmins + 1st to get 50% retention on Rakell and really go for it.
