With Werenski (as with a lot of guys actually) it's not about the value, he's just so important to CBJ that I don't think they'd even consider moving him

Value wise, he’s probably worth the 4th overall alone

Imo Zadina+4th overall for Werenski is a loss for DET in terms of value, but CBJ would still likely decline it because players like Werenski just won't get moved.

As a Detroit fan I can confidently say that neither team should do this. Or even consider it. Detroit sets their future back significantly for a player who is ready to win now, Columbus who is ready to win now trades a player that is a great fit, for future pieces that won't help them win now.
Werenski is a UFA in the 21/22 offseason. Columbus will have had some tricky choices by then, and hopefully Detroit will have a Shane Wright, that might be the perfect time for a homecoming.

Werenski will never make it to free agency. The Jackets will sign him. Werenski is definitely worth more than 4OA. Unless a generational type player is there, Werenski is more valuable

Werenski is one of those guys where even the value is "fair" theres still no reason to trade him.
A playoff team has no business trading away a top 15 defenseman who plays every situation and is on a steal of a contract. They would just need to replace him with exactly what he already is

DET needs to accumulate talent not trade away what talent they have. Doesn’t make a lot of sense for either team.

The only trade both teams could even consider is Werenski for Larkin. No, neither team is going to make this trade but Columbus only moves Werenski is we get an NHL ready top 6 center back and Detroit really shouldn’t be moving draft picks or players under 24.

Oh he is undoubtedly worth more than 4OA, but Detroit would be silly to offer more and damage their rebuild further, and Columbus would be silly to offer less.
If im Columbus I would be looking worriedly at the next couple of years signings and cap hits, this flat cap is bananas and I think you could argue that from a purely cap perspective Detroit is the healthiest team heading into this rough patch for the other 30 teams.
