I’d love to see Ottawa make that steen move, but I think the blues would rather move bozak (steen is loved and better I believe). I think either way they should make a run at something similar

I wouldn't trade bertuzzi for dunn 1 for 1. So that offer is done, wings also aren't trading him so this is a pass

The Blues don't do any of those deals.

Parayko for Rielly doesn't make sense. People can bang on about about having too many RHD, but Rielly certainly doesn't fit on a pairing with Pietrangelo or Faulk. There is no point in paying Pietrangelo and then neutering him so Rielly can be the PMD.

Bozak at $4m has value, and I wouldn't move Dunn for Bertuzzi. Dunn for futures makes more sense for the Blues.

The first absolutely is no getting moved to move Steen. There are other options.

This also doesn't make sense for the Blues beyond this season, it puts us in cap hell at the end of 20/21.

From Detroit's point of view Bozak is a cap dump and $5M for one season compensation would be a late 2nd or an early 3rd. So you are saying Dunn is worth Bertuzzi, a 5th and a late 2nd? How does that work?

Look at what Toronto got for Kapanen then compare Bertuzzi to Kapanen. I wouldn't trade Bertuzzi for Kapanen straight up.

A lot of people look at Dunn as a 1st Round Pick+ but even from Blues point of view it's a dumb deal. I don't think either team is interested in it. And Parayko deal is a huge no. Blues do not have an interest in losing 2 Top 10 RHD in the League and bring in an Offensive one who's gonna be replaced by Perunovich in a few years.

Steen has NTC and I wouldn’t think he accepts that trade. We talking about mid 2nd (CBJ) to move up for late first ST.L (26 OA).

Yeah I wouldn't trade Dunn if I was STL. It's very similar to Hronek here in Detroit and Marino in Pittsburgh. I was up set the undervaluing of Bertuzzi. This has been going on all season Detroit is good so we can trade our bottom 6 player to them for 2nd and 3rd round picks. Then since Detroit is bad they can't have any good players so we continue to get low ball offers for the players that we won't trade. I really do like this site but it has started to go down hill a bit. I can;'t make it through a day without have to explain how LTIR works. When proposing a trade the you took in to account the other teams needs as well as your own. Now that does still happen but there are so many more proposals where a team's fanbase just offers up the same players they don't want (in most cases its players no one wants) in exchange for a the other teams best players.

Bozak or Steen, I would take either.

Moving back 20 spots to dump 6M in cap is a move that STL should jump for

When I saw it was a Montreal fan that said this I actually had to walk it off I was laughing so hard. I think you really need to stop whining about Detroit NOT TRADING Mantha.

Now there is a difference between not wanting trade to trade a player and asking too much for him.

Yeah I love Dunn, but I also know Bertuzzi is great while I still feel Dunn is better Detroit has a great opportunity with Bertuzzi.

I agree Dunn is a little better than Bertuzzi. Dunn also has more value because he is a defenseman.

Oh, Dunn definitely has more value than Bertuzzi, but it's not a good fit. Detroit's first line works well because Bert, Larkin, and Mantha have great chemistry together. Bert's gritty presence, hand eye coordination, and scoring touch compliments Larkin and Mantha's skills very well. No Bert means no net front presence unless Mantha takes it up, but Mantha's best asset is handling the puck and shooting. Throws off the dynamic quite a bit.
Taking him out would also mean that either Zadina goes to the left side full time, or Fabbri comes up. Leaves another big hole on the second line with no adequate fill, and Detroit's offense is already terrible as it is.

TLDR: Detroit would be creating a hole to fill another. They're better off drafting and developing, in my opinion.
