Burns is the worst thing Dubas could go for. Literally is tyson barrie but older. We have no need for him.

Thanks for the laughs though

Burns at 4M is worth it. He would be off the books by the time Marner and Matthews need their next contracts.

It would obviously never happen, but If the 2021 1st had top 15 protection I would take it.

That’s the dumbest thing I’ve read in the last month. Comparing Burns to Barrie only shows how little you know about hockey.

I know enough to know Brent Burns is the last thing the leafs need. Provides 0 defense and is mainly known for his offense. We have 0 use for that. Plus hes 35 and is only going to slow down especially since he will be 39 at the end. Face it sharks signed a bad contract with way to much term and are stuck with him unless they pay seattle a fortune to take him.

No thank you hard pass

yep thats why I said barrie but older. Barrie and Burns are known for their offense but provide 0 in the way of defense. Basically leafs have 0 need for an offensive dman as we got Lehtonen and Rielly next season filling in that role. What leafs need is a defensive dman or a solid 2 way.

Free agency has better options and rn based on a report leafs have an offer for Gudas. If we can get Demelo/Hamonic/or Brodie were set.

If I’m GM, 4m x 5 years is way to suspect but change johnsson for something more youthful and I’d do it (I just don’t want Johnsson cap hit if you made it bracco or something I’d consider accepting).

your offer hurts the leafs the most but if I’m the sharks and I want him gone I’d accept

Way way too much for Burns. Take out both picks before the leafs even consider.

The point of trading Burns would be to clear cap for our forward group and that isn't happening here so it's probably gonna be a no. Also retaining 4M for 5 years is brutal for the Sharks Competitive offer though...

I hate to start this conversation again, but to those that say Burns is really bad... they need to start watching some games and maybe understand the deeper meaning of the beast Brent Burns.
We all know he has the defensive liability tag, not gonna argue that. Also he had his best year in 2018-2019 and that wasn't even the year he won the Norris. Burns is much more than just a D-man, he is a hard working leader that some nights looks like a 20 year old winger with his dangles and offensive upside, and some nights he is a hard hitting D-man that never actually gets injured.
He is like a fine wine and somehow only gets better the older he gets. If you only take his last season to account, you are just lazy at seeing the bigger picture.
If Burns played for Toronto, I promise the team would be a lot better. I dare to even say that he can bring them to 2nd round or further. He has that experience with Sharks, that haven't got as good of a offence as Toronto. Its not just the points, its the experience. He is an elite for a reason.

And NO I don't want to see Burns gone. I like him as Shark and without him we wouldn't have the same success. But under the circumstances I would understand if they traded Brent Burns #88.
Sorry for the rant, but fans of other teams just see one bad season (because of a bad team) and it seems like all of sudden he is a new Dion Phaneuf in their eyes.

EDIT: Bad season meaning = 70games 12 goals 33 assists = 45points +/- = -22 (on a bad team all together)
