I know but since you're below the cap floor I figured you'd want your homeboy along with some picks.

Drouin isn’t quite a full cap dump yet is he? That trade looks ridiculous.

Well in my world he is cause I could afford to pay the price. But in reality if I was able to speak directly to other GMs perhaps it'd be different. But I need cap space and I don't have much leverage. I'm almost sure in real life I'd be able to unload him along with a 2nd and 3rd to a team like LA, NJ or OTT. They have alot of cap.

Honestly, I would hang onto him if I were you because he seems like he’s be a good candidate for Seattle to claim.

Pretty sure we didn't just sign Gally to that extention to move him less than a week later.

I'm optimistic that he would be. But i need to go for cups before Price and Weber slow down. Killorn and Cirelli bring the experience along with Allen, Toffoli and Edmundson (which I assume Seattle drafts him if I don't protect).

Why do you think Bergevin was tearing in his interview the other day?... he's pulling a PK again. He wanted to pay Gally what he deserves but he knows he's not part of the future plan.

NJ has less forward need it's just Merkley, Boqvist, Kuokkanen aren't rostered atm, but they're all better than the 11/12 forwards for Ottawa: AW/Balcers

Unloading Drouin when some mix of Chiarot Armia Allen would more than suffice for that 😐

Am I a better playoff team next year with Drouin or Armia, Chariot and Allen?

I swear I saw danault+caufield. Ok then. Sorry.

Jets decline even harder. Gallagher would be our worst top 6 forward and is paid just as much as laine (for the next 6 years). This isn’t even close then

Ottawa still has to sign Tierney and Connor Brown. They'll easily put us above the floor. Byron has too much term left and will just get in the way. Ottawa declines.

I know that's why I'm giving you picks. No offense mate but OTT is not an ideal destination for UFAs just yet. Piling up picks is good capital for future trades or more chances of building through the draft.

Sens are over the cap floor by 600k, with 5 RFA’s left to sign, might pass Detroit

My bad. I wont force feed you. I'm sure there's someone out there who would take on Byron with the sweetners.

As I’ve posted before, Byron is a good player, just no room for him in Ottawa, but you’re right, someone would take him.

You know that’s not what I meant. Great job twisting my words. My point was to say Gallagher is overpaid and I don’t want him. This laine trade isn’t enough to make the jets even consider

I don't think you realized what you said but only after you said it. I think Caufield is worth the risk. You could flip eather Gally or CC (which I think he'll be ready the yr after this one) for a #2C next yr when Stastny is gone or a top 2 RD. If I were you I'd flip Gally after this yr, but before his new contract kicks in. Caufield can eat up one-timers like Laine.

Caufield is a good player but he wouldn’t last with Maurice and in the central so he’s not that valuable to a team like the jets. Again, o don’t want any part of that Gallagher contract. My point in saying Gallagher was paid as much as laine was that he’s drastically worse and costs the same. Where is the value in that? Jets decline and there is no argument there. The jets probably want a top pairing rd for him or someone like Dobson who will be. I would shop him to the isles before the Canadiens cause the Canadiens simply don’t have what the jets want in a laine trade, unless you want to include Suzuki.
