Just like you were supposed to win the cup last year and the year before? Oh, and the Habs were 3-0 against the Leafs last season

Habs also played those 3 games rested while the Leafs were on a back to back. Leafs would shred them in a playoff series.

Montreal outplayed Philadelphia so I agree it would be the same scenario. Sorry, but adding T.J Brodie while losing who they lost doesn't make the Leafs defense any better. The Leafs IMO got worse this offseason.

Toronto out played Columbus but got hilariously goaltended and Montreal added a crappy defender, a terrible 4th liner replaced domi with a guy who hqd 1 goal last season etc.
The habs were like 24th over all last season and didn't get much better

I think Montreal is the better constructed team. 4 lines that can score goals and 3 defensive pairings that can play defense. If Price is Price, it's easily Montreal.

Leafs can construct their team to match that though. Move Marner to the third line and all of a sudden all 4 Toronto F lines are better. All 3 Leafs defensive pairs can play D now. If Andersen is Andersen, it's easily Toronto.

Did you watch him in the playoffs?

Yeah, he had like 2 good games. Wow, amazing. He was below replacement level for 99.99999% of the year and hes older now.

Adding Brodie and losing... who doesn't make them better? Barrie? Ceci?

are you high kid?

If thats the standard, then the habs are built entirely out of 4th liners and press box watchers.
And lol at the habs shutting down the leafs top 6. They never have and never will

Anderson, Gallagher, Petry, Edmundson, and Perry will be sending William Softlander, and a losing Tavares to the infirmary room

depends how they shape their bottom 6, but Montreal's is terrible.

Leafs could easily have:
Robertson - Kerfoot - Mikheyev
Vesey - Spezza/Thornton - Simmonds

Against Montreal:
Drouin - Kotkaniemi - Armia
Byron - Poehling - Lehkonen

Leafs 4th line walks all over Montreal's, and 3rd line would be a good, fair battle. & Leafs top 6 would dominate Montreal. SO I don't see how your comment is relevant at all

Lol you said Vesey

Would they? Who knows. See, I'm not saying with conviction that the Habs would win, because anything can happen and a barely playoffs team swept the team who had the best regular season in NHL history two years ago.

Leafs 4th line doesn't even come close to Montreal's. You don't put a Sabres reject with a 41 YO that skates like he's carry 100 LB of bricks and a guy who doesn't deserve to be in the NHL and expect it to come close to competing against any other line in the NHL. Leafs 3rd line is alright, but it's nothing to celebrate. When comparing it to Montreal's, you can't even compare. Montreal's bottom 6 is one of the best in the league.

Your talking about a guy who will be our 13th forward. Simmonds was awful last season, really really awful

Yet he was 10x better than perry on a worse team and he'll be the leafs 13th forward pretty easily if he doesnt bounce back. Oh nk

Here are the Leafs additions:
Simmonds (washed and a losing player)
Thornton (washed and a losing player)
Vesey (Sabres reject)
Bogosian (Stanley Cup champion)
Brodie (good)
Lehtonen (bust)

Habs additions:
Toffoli (Stanley Cup champion)
Allen (Stanley Cup champion)
Edmundson (Stanley Cup champion)
Anderson (Playoff performer - lesser version of Tom Wilson)
Perry (Stanley Cup champion and Stanley Cup finalist)

Toffoli - good 2nd line winger
Allen - good backup goalie
Anderson - 3 points in 26 games. I don't care if he's big and mean, 5.5x7 for a guy who can't score without Panarin is brutal
Perry - if you're calling Thornton washed, so is Perry

How can you call Lehtonen a bust? He can't played a game yet. Best Dman in the KHL and now he's a bust? ok

Take your Leafs homer glasses off as I did, and understand that the Leafs will be lucky to see game 5 against the Habs

Your Bias is huge. A crappy defender? You realized he was a big part of why St.Louis won a cup right? Just because he didn't fit in with Carolina doesn't mean he's a bad defender. I have no idea who the terrible 4th liner is. The only reason we got Anderson was because he was injured, otherwise Columbus would never trade him. Players like him aren't available in trades ever. He's not there to put up points, but that's all Toronto knows how to do so I'm not surprised you don't realize there's other roles.

Lmao. This shows how much Habs fans know. You're extremly bias. And based on your name, I won't be talking anything Habs to you cause you probably think they do nothing wrong. Lmao.

Don't worry, he thinks Leafs enforcers: Nic Petan, Denis Malgin, and Jimmy Vesey will show the Habs who's boss

The problem is that the bottom 6 plays about 1 period a game, 33%. The Habs special teams have been terrible and their first 2 lines don't match up to the Leafs. They are counting to win more from that 33% than the other 66% and thats unlikely.

Simmonds (Anderson, yes he's a 4th liner too), Hyman (Gallagher), Muzzin (Petry), Brodie (Edmundson), and literally any old fourth liner we have (Perry) will match up, while we have our 37-goal-pace star winger (Nylander) and elite #1C playing #2C (Tavares) lighting up their second line following a Hyman - Matthews - Marner line domination

10x better than Perry tears of joy He should be playing bottom 6 in the AHL, not the NHL

I only listed a few. They have more gritty style players on their team
