If you include Trocheck in exchange for one of the lesser prospects you can just buyout Gardiner and you wouldn't need to pay the extra first. Go one step further and you can add that first in exchange for a wing prospect to put beside Aho

Now just to find a backup who costs $176,417 lol
Technically if enough teams retain a lg min salary
Maybe Connor Ingram?

They could also just bridge deal Svech instead of long term

Small problem: you must dress a back-up G. Which means you're gonna need to go with 17 skaters or pull somebody making a little money out for a cheapie.

Think Devils would be game for that

Sorry, but no way Eichel commands that sort of return, essentially five 1st round picks. (Necas, Suzuki, Jarvis and 2 picks).
Insane.
First that is a lot for Jack, but lets presume he was traded, then Ristolainen and Reinhart would also be moved.
If Sam and Rasmus were traded, they would bring back prospects or picks.
Second, if Jack, Sam and Rasmus were moved, they would love to do the NJ deal as well getting 3 first round picks and Gardner thrown into the mix.
Third, that would be a really good Carolina team and could be good enough to win multiple Cups.
So finally, let's agree that that is a lot for Jack, but if the team could win a cup, it is cheap.
If I were the Sabre GM and Waddell offered me:
Jarvis, Seth
Necas, Martin
Suzuki, Ryan
Rees, Jamieson
Ponomarev, Vasili
Gardiner, Jake
2023 1st round pick (CAR)
2021 1st round pick (CAR)
2022 1st round pick (CAR)
2023 2nd round pick (CAR)
I would be crazy to say no, even if all of the picks were the last pick in the first round.
Three good center prospects, a solid RW prospect and three late first round picks.
I would even retain an extra $1,000,000 to help Carolina get a GK.
