I don’t want Barrie and I think we get alittle more in a Jones trade.

At #5, I think that there will be at least two prime center prospects available. Wouldn't one of those be a better fit for your team?

I would hope we’d get a better return for Jones, but it hurts that he is on the last year on his deal and he’ll probably sign in Dallas anyway. Dallas does a trade to get leverage so they can offer the 8th year.

Fairly certain a team like Philly will top that offer for Jones, definitely see them as the frontrunners

If Beniers is still there then absolutely. Kent Johnson would also be a solid pick. I went with Clarke due to adding Schenn and Dellandrea.

That is a big contract for Coleman -- I like him, but that gives me 2017 FA vibes...

I understand. The problem is that you're going to have to make a decision at the draft before you find out if you're able to add a top-quality center from outside the org.

The Blues won't want Korpi and Bemstrom doesn't really fit their needs/ team MO. I'd say "what else ya got?", but the reality is Schenn probably wouldn't waive.

Initial trade value is fine for Dallas, but they still don’t do that deal. They aren’t going to give up a 1st & part of their core moving forward for a guy that they either 1) Won’t be able to sign after the season or 2) Will force them to lose Klingberg if they do sign him.

Dallas simply doesn’t have the long-term cap space to make a Jones trade happen long-term & those are a couple solid assets to give up for a rental.

I dont think Johnsson would be a good pick up and he's the only "top" center I see being available. Johnsson focuses too much on playing with the puck trying to make Chel come to life. A lot easier to get away with that in college or another league other than NHL (just ask Jurco). Columbus would be smart to take Clarke if avaliable

I think it would have to be Foudy or the number 5 pick for the Blues to say yes to this. As of now, I agree it wouldn't work.

Thanks for the opinion. Clarke is the guy I wanted Anaheim to take if they fell to fourth. I think that the choice now (for us) is between him and Dylan Guenther, with a long shot of Simon Edvinsson.

I wonder what to make of this sudden surge by Mason McTavish.

I don’t know enough about him tbh. I was thinking since he was born here he might be interested in signing here, but I keep reading articles that “home” for him is Colorado. So I doubt Jones to Dallas is a sure thing. Not sure Dallas or Colorado has the long term cap space for him without some serious shuffling. Curios to see what happens. What’s crazy is the Avs could clear the space for him without moving key pieces. In which case everybody else should start rebuilding cause they’re gonna win multiple cups in a row. That may still be the case without him. That team is disgustingly good

Edvinson is an interesting case study. If you haven't watched Scouching's video on him you should. I found extremely interesting. As far as McTavish, I think it's because he's a gritty guy who's not afraid out there. He's shown a lot of growth unlike Räty.
