With these kinds of returns and both Dermott and Sandin apt to take another step this year, I cannot for the life of me imagine why they wouldn't. A short-term stand-in likely does't cost much at all and being able to get draft capital back? It'd be pretty worthwhile.

Jones simply in terms of what Chicago gave up to acquire him and how they've locked themselves in on another really big contract.

Boqvist's closest comparable is Erik Karlsson and the kid's still 20 years old. All Philly gave up was magic beans and the Canucks might have delayed their cap problems but are at least getting Garland.

EDIT: forgot about Hagg going to Buffalo. I still think the Jones one is worse but it's a small margin. If Philly extends Ristolainen and he still sucks this year, then maybe the Risto one would be worse. Hard to ignore how much Jones has to come back to form for his contract to make sense.
